Personality

Vhenadel is a fighter. He enjoys violence - but only when it has a purpose. He doesn't fight for just the fun of it. He usually ends up defending something or someone. He likes to intimidate others with his size and enormous wings, but can be surprisingly gentle when needed. Very rough and sometimes vulgar in his manner of speech, but doesn’t want to really insult his fellow clanmembers.

Lately he has become more of a family man after finding himself a mate. He values every offspring that survives and is a proud father and devoted mate - even though his and Serein's confrontations an ce brutal sometimes.

 Role description

Master of the Vanguard is is in command of the Vanguards, who are the protective force of the clan. Vanguard's job is to enforce rules within it and to reject threats from outside, sometimes with force.

History

Vhenadel has roamed the Viridian Labyrinth alone for a long time. The reason for his wandering was because he had lost his Charge - a tree which grew from the earthen pod he hatched from. It got burned and destroyed by an enemy clan, and out of shame for not being able to protect it Vhenadel chose exile. He hasn’t really cared about clan life and has always been his own master. He has found his fun in brawling, mostly with some kind of reason backing it – a valid one or not. He even received a scar over his left eye by fighting for a young female wildclaw who had been harassed by a male one. Vhenadel often tells the story, with an alteration or two, since he thinks it as his best fight in his life.

At some point such life started to bore him, however, and he wanted new challenges. He wanted a purpose to fight for, not some occasional brawls for petty reasons like defending one’s prey or chasing away some beasts from the vicinity of someone’s nest.

That’s when he came across a newly established clan in the Everbloom Gardens. The clan’s leader was impressed with his size and physical prowess, so he proposed Vhenadel a deal: if he would come to his service and fill the position of the Master of the Vanguard, he would get to fight for the protection of the clan and its members and have a real purpose. Vhenadel, who had nothing better to do, agreed to the deal and was welcomed to the clan – on the condition that he would be allowed to select members for the Vanguard by himself. His presence has put many minds at ease and given the clan some sense of security.

At some point Clan Evervale made allies with another clan from the Shifting Expanse - Clan Levinflare. After escorting Faladhin to the negotiations Vhenadel met Serein - the furious, adamant and unrelentful leader of the said clan's forces. Vhenadel was mesmerized by the challenge Serein offered. Their fights - or training, as they called it - were brutal and furious, but both of them always seemed to make it through. They gained mutual respect for each other - and some time later it turned into something else completely. Vhenadel found himself caring for the female ridgeback that was no longer able to fly. They both wanted offsprings, so what would be a better way of getting them than from a partner so strong as the other was?

But their family life was not as easy as they had thoughts. Hatchling after hatcling died for different causes. They were not strong enough to survive - at least not until both of them went to Varjoemo and asked for their genes to be changed. After that they were able to produce children that were able to survive the burden called life - and they became almost a sole joy of Vhenadel's life.
