Trill is the clan's treasure keeper, generally seen residing in the clan vaults, where she counts the coins and treasures laid about in vast piles. Some of the clan even suspects she sleeps there. Although the place seems to be kept in barely organized piles, Trill must have some sort of system that keeps her from endlessly counting and recounting the same pile of treasure. If asked, she can certainly rattle off the exact value from her most recent count. If you hold up a piece of treasure mid-count and ask her, assuming you can get her attention, whether or not she's counted it yet, she will tell you not only if she has, but when she counted it and what it brought the value to. Trill is known for her extraordinary acuity regarding numbers, and her extraordinary absent-mindedness regarding everything else. If out of the vault, she's generally still mumbling to herself about numbers, tallying them off in her head. Any dragon trying to get her attention to speak to her has to wait a long time, because for someone who can tell you the value of any gem down to the last coin, she has trouble distinguishing between “just a minute” and an hour. Trill often comments on how absent minded her clan mates seem to be, trying to talk about something, but having wandered off or forgotten what they were saying when she gets around to asking what it is. If they can get her attention, they find it to be cheerful, charming, and polite, like a ray of economically-minded sunshine. They also find it brief, prone to being dropped mid-conversation so she can get back to her work. It's best to talk to her succinctly, or not at all. |
