A dying clan gave parting gifts to Cloudy Zephyr, shining jewels that appeared to contain the very essence of the sun. The entire clan was in awe. At the time, there were no Light dragons in the lair, and none of the other dragons felt comfortable wearing the jewels. Then Ausra stepped forward and said, "I will wear them." The clan was shocked. A Plague dragon wearing the jewels of the Lightweaver? While not unheard of, it was still rather unusual. But none could deny how stunning she looked in the pearls.

She must have had a natural affinity to Light, though, because when the Light festival came around, it was a Light dragon that bought the Sunbeam Ursa, but as soon as the little bear was brought into the lair, it trundled off happily to Ausra, and there it has stayed by her side.

Lately, she has taken to painting her hide with intricate markings. "They are supplications to the Lightweaver", she says. "Why are you praying to the Lightweaver?" dragons ask. "So that I may be accepted into her service when my time comes."

Why would a plague dragon want to go to the Lightweaver's service? She thinks that the Plaguebringer has let her down somehow, and after having learned how Imperials were created (and Emperors), has gone over to the "Light" side. She thinks the Lightweaver is everything the Plaguebringer should have been.
