Vixell
The ~~retired~~ Patriarch

Vixell is Bailey's mate of many, many years. He had always been serious and solemn, and never one for attention. He always worked for the good of the clan, even when faced with tough decisions like exalting and changing where their clan lived. For many dragons he was always seen as a wise fatherly figure, and eventually as he aged he became a grandfather figure. He was always proud to have other dragons hold him as a voice as authority, and never once thought to take advantage of his place as the clan's Leader.

Since leaving the Gladekeeper, and because of his awareness of his failing health, he has begun to look for a replacement leader to help his clanmates. At first, Scarabic was the most likely successor, but the new dragon Tadhiel has caught his eye by showing great depths of wisdom.

Vixell takes this choice as seriously as any dragon can, because he can not leave the clan in any kind of danger or risk. Years ago, he met Bailey while on his Search. He felt compelled to stay with her, though he didn't really know why. At first, he thought she might be his Charge. It would of explained his fondness for the dragon, but not why other Guardians held having a Charge in such high regard.

However, as time moved on he realized he was wrong. He loved Bailey, but only as a mate and friend, and not as his Charge. Vixell came to realize this as he awake one morning to look out at his clan in the gardens of the Viridian Labyrinth. As he watched the dragons work and interact, he felt a new surge of emotions. The Guardian felt complete for the first time in his life, and he knew exactly why. Vixell had found his Charge, and it wasn't to a single dragon, nor object. It also wasn't a place; like a special tree or river. It was his clan.

Vixell did well to protect his clan through the many years. He worked tirelessly to ensure that his clan would be the best that it could be, and it was been well worth the efforts. Vixell had watched as his clan went from being just Bailey and himself barely surviving in the wilds, to a large a complex village of well meaning dragons who respect and love each other.
