Biography
Mismar is not precisely... nice, but he is fiercely loyal to and protective of his clan. Born and exalted as a guardian, he kept an eye on his clan from both the Gladekeeper's and Earthshaker's service. He realized that his insight into others' minds was not sufficient as a guardian, so he changed his breed to skydancer.
"I've been watching you. You are skillful, intelligent, but you also have a streak of ruthlessness in you that merits monitoring. It has been primarily used for good. But you would be mistaken if you think I will passive in this clan. This clan is my charge. Carwyn and I were granted return by the Earthshaker to ensure this clan lives up to its full promise. When Mismar was discharged from the Earthshaker's service, he was quick to inform Niccolo he was not worthy of the position. "You think a little time in the coliseum is enough to trump years of experience? You think your quick wit will save this clan from collapsing in on itself from over population or over-quick exaltation? Your bright plumage will not help Arcenciel meet his potential, nor aid Lovet in overcoming his past. No, you are not wise enough to lead a clan. You may play a role in it. You may help shape our path, as your clan mates have endorsed you for your role in ousting a stupid leader, but you will submit to me, Carwyn, and Ardath." "What gives you the right, old man, after so much time away, to say how this clan is run?" Mismar lashed out quick and hard, leaving a deep gash in the larger dragon's shoulder. Mismar's voice turned dark and harsh. "I was born a guardian, and this clan is my charge. I have served under the Glademother and the Earthfather for more than two years, and THIS CLAN IS MY CHARGE. This is not an honor, nor a prize. It is DUTY, you quivering piece of flesh. Unless you can prove to me you understand duty and sacrifice, you will never be patriarch again."
