Biography
the matriarch of clan Delmar, Darys has proven herself worthy of the title. with a steely demeanor and imposing figure, she has carried her clan through both prosperous times and grim ones. while she leans toward pacifism, she was never naive enough to leave her clan defenseless; both she and Laurel trained themselves in the coliseum, alternating between them the duties of training and guarding the nests at home.
Darys's clan has always been a small one, and one of transience; she prefers to see her lair as a home for those who need one, whether it's for days, months, or the rest of their life. now that her clan has grown far larger, she is thankful for the dragons who have been with her nearly from the beginning. they have become her advisers and confidants, and she holds them in high regard.
of particular importance to her is the wildclaw, Adalberto. Darys has seen all of her children leave her nest. despite her genuine well-wishing, she had always wished at least one of them had remained with her and Laurel. when Adalberto arrived at Darys's lair years ago, she and Laurel nurtured the hatchling; Adalberto became not only a candidate for the title of matriarch, but a daughter to Darys and Laurel as well.
when a rival clan invaded and overtook their home in the Viridian Labyrinth, Darys led the clan to the realm of the Icewarden, where she has fostered many new dragons - some who left for other paths, and some who chose to remain. she hopes one day to return to the Gladekeeper's forest, growing weary of the Icefield's bleak harshness.
