╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
"You cannot hide from me. I am mist and air." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ For the longest time, Leviana was the sort of dragon who was going nowhere. They were a fae, nimble and small. Their fingers were quick and their eyes even quicker, and it was for this that they found themself with an unusual talent. Not that Leviana could blame their past on their quick hands; it was them who decided to take to a life of thieving in the first place. They knew they'd be good at it and they wanted things they could not afford, so why not just take it for their own? It was all too easy, barely a challenge, and soon they had developed a name for themself. The Ghost. Never seen, never caught, Leviana was the best thief in all of the northern territories. This was the way of things for many years, but all good things would come to an end. This Leviana was familiar with. It was Audra who had found them. Like Leviana, he was quick. Like them, he knew how to hide. And with that knowledge, he knew how to find Leviana. Although a chase ensued—Leviana wasn't overly fond of their hideout being intruded upon by a stranger—the spiral did not lose his cool. Indeed, when he finally caught Leviana and coiled himself tightly around them, his face was lack of emotion and his vibrant blue eyes searching. Like them, he knew how to find things. "Stop squirming," he demanded, the edges of his mouth turning into a slight frown. As if they were inconveniencing him. Of all the nerve. Leviana only bared their teeth at him and fought harder against his wiry body. He looked unperturbed by their struggles and simply spoke over their failed attempts at freeing themself. He spoke quickly, eyes glancing around them. They were at the edges of the Hewn City and even powerful dragons dared not to stray too close once night fell. Luckily, this meant that few dragons trespassed on Leviana's land. And if the Lightweaver was on their side, it would've stayed that way. "I'm not here because of your crimes," Audra said then, "or at least not in the way that you think." He looked down at Leviana, both expressionless, although the fae's crest was rigid and taut. Continuing once Leviana had lessened their squirming, Audra added, "I am here because your skills, while felonious, have caught the...intrigue of certain high-ranking dragons. We are in need of what you can offer and if you will just. Stop. Squirming. I can take you to my superiors and you can be free of this... What do you call this? A home?" The hint of a sneer touched his snout, but it was gone before it turned to anything. "Why should I go with you?" Leviana asked, their crest flattening against their skull. "Why did you even come?" Audra frowned as if the answer were obvious. "Because I was ordered too. Unlike you, I have those I report to. I have a job. A purpose. You could as well." He huffed out a breath, his grip slackening since Leviana had long since stopped writhing. "You don't always need to be a thief in the night. There are better things. Nobler things. But if you are not interested, then I will stop wasting my time." Uncoiling himself fully, Audra unfurled his wings and soon took to the air. He paused to look at Leviana, his mouth opening as if to speak. Changing his mind, he closed it and turned, winding body disappearing into the night. Leviana only hesitated for a moment before darting after him. If there was one thing they could never resist, it was their curiosity. And, after all, hadn't they always been a tracker? A scout? Following Audra home, the journey long, Leviana proved the spiral right: they did have the talents the clan needed. Their first test was already done and, when they slipped into the Frozen-Sea Clan's lair undetected before seeking out Audra, they had bound themself to the clan. |
