Calixto is one of forgotten times; living as one with himself and the land surrounding. A time ago, he married and had children with a beautiful thief by the name of Crucelia. Together they raised Arataki, Ahava, and Aether, teaching them only the ways of the land. Crucelia had told him his ways were much more respectful than her own; so he teaches her his ways, and the three of their children grow with the trees and the animals they watched. Days, weeks, months, and years pass, and their children become older. His three daughter proved to become such wonderful beings. Ahava was strong and adventurous. Aether was a crafter; loving nothing more than to sit and make baskets and blankets as Calixto did as well. Arataki grew to be a kind woman; charming and obedient. Over the time that his family grew, other beings had settled nearby, and treated him as they would a venerable chief. Calixto takes responsibility, and with the help of the new beings and his family, builds a small, peaceful clan. They may have been weak, and had no riches or hoards, but they committed only benign actions and were greatly kind to one another. Kadilliman, a seemingly kind man, married his first daugher, Arataki, and becomes king. Calixo and Arataki are relieved that the fate of the clan no longer rests in their hands; but the kind hands of their child and a smart man. However, it all goes wrong. Kadilliman harms Calixto, convinces Arataki he is doing everything for the best, and the clan becomes trapped in the never ending cycle of death. Calixto remains hidden behind his wife, mourning the loss of his peace and his clan. The only peace he has now resides in the intrigued eyes of Arataki's son, Ichor, who wants to learn more about the true ways of the land. |
