Yugao
The Clan's Guardian | The Stick Master
Yugao leads a minimalist life. He's carrying everything he owns with him. Most of his clothes are old and bought as secondhand used. Yugao spends great portion of his day meditating. He usually chooses a large stone, preferably one that's covered with moss and other modest plant growth, and either sits on it or lies down on it. He observes every little thing around him, especially the routines of crawling insects' and other local animals' fascinate him. Naturally Yugao's clan nominated him to watch over the borders. He carries a wooden battlehorn inside his bag in case enemy attacks and he needs to alert his clan quickly. Yugao decided to go vegan for the compassion towards animals, even insects. He doesn't need to hunt food to survive, he just eats any safe plants and shrooms available. About once or twice a week someone from the clan brings him a big meal of plants as a "reward for staying guard", but also to see if he's doing well and eating properly. When Yugao isn't meditating, he practices martial arts and pure magic. He's very peaceful and fights only to defend himself or his clan. Yugao however does accept practicing duels. His weapons of choice are fists, legs, tail and wooden staff. The spells he knows include damaging, shielding, strengthening and weakening ones. When he performs spells, his eyes and forehead bead glow faint white light. The wings of Yugao are full of enchanted carvings. The scribblings have a green glow when Yugao is awake. When awake, his wings can't be damaged by any weapon or spell. He uses them as shields. When he sleeps or is unconscious, they stop glowing and are vulnerable. He has an animal companion, rooster named Nokka. Back when Yugao wasn't a meditating hermit, he was helping the clan with gardening and other things. There was a small flock of chickens he used to feed daily and for some reason this one male chick really started to like him. It ran after Yugao everywhere he went. Other clan members thought it was hilarious. Yugao was embarrassed and frustrated at first, until he accepted the rooster's constant presence and gave it Familiar status. Nokka is a smart bird and can do small tasks, like carrying letters and newspaper. Nicknames: Yugao, the Stick Master, the Clan's Guardian Likes: Meditation, wildlife, nature, peace and quiet. Favorite food: Prickly Pear. |
