Biography
Castiel returned from the auction house with a new clan member. And for the first time in anyone's memory, Bat was unpleased with a new member.
Bat: "It's a plague dragon! It could have rabies!"
Castiel: "But.... But... Reptiles can't carry rabies- I think."
Bat: "And she's white...Doesn't that mean she's ill? I thought faded plumage was a sign of sickness in coatls. I can't have her infecting the hatchlings!"
Castiel: "She was born that way. White and grey coatls face a lot of unjust discrimination. I hear some clans even abandon their hatchlings alone in the woods. Luckily many open-minded clans are starting to value them for their beauty... and there is always the plague clans who value he 'look of sickness."'
Bat felt a twinge of pitty for the unjust treatment. And shame that the rival plague clans were more open minded than her.
Bat: "Fine. I'll let her stay. But she'll probably just leave when breeding season hits. I hear coatls have a hard time resisting the urge to return to their homeland in fire territory."
Castiel: "If she wants to leave that's fine- but give her a chance."
Bat: "And does she even understand faes? Half our lair is populated with them!"
Castiel: "I'll translate until she learns."
Bat: "Well she's pretty at least. She shouldn't have trouble finding a mate."
The coatl tilted her head trying to understand the funny little monotone dragon. She got nothing. She thought from Castiel's side of the conversation that the funny little creature didn't like her. That was alright. She knew Castiel did. And she was pretty sure that by the end of the conversation the bat-dragon-thingy had warmed to her a little.
