Parallax

He loves to adorn himself with the shiniest bits and gewgaws he has found in this travels. Despite this vain streak, which his friends indulgently tolerate, Parallax is generally considered a good, levelheaded leader that most others are happy to follow: generous, forgiving, and fair, though unreasonably jealous of his precious small, personal hoard, rabidly overprotective of his eggs, and often away from home. The dragons who have joined his lair have found themselves forced to arbitrate their own squabbles, and sometimes even larger conflicts, as Parallax has often absented himself from the caverns for one reason or another. (His bantam fangar (("Disme"??)) usually stays behind to keep an eye on things while his dragon's out adventuring, but a fat, cuddly fangar is no substitute for a leader no matter how much he purrs.)
He is a better cross-species communicator than most fae dragons, as might be guessed from the large and quite varied dragon clan he helped to found, although it ofttimes seems like this is perhaps through sheer persistence and enthusiasm rather than actual clearer words; he does tend to instinctively accompany his words with large, exaggerated gestures, however, which does help.


He grew up in an amber nest elsewhere, but even as a young hatchling displayed a curiosity and wanderlust that could not be sated. Parallax set out on his own to find a place he could stretch his wings, a place he could with more contentment truly call his home. Only after he met the lovely female fae called Alizee did he realize that it was the dragon he was with, rather than the physical trappings of place and season, that truly made him feel at home. The young couple settled down in a lair of their own near the ocean edge of the Windsinger's territory, and soon after produced their first pair of eggs.

Parallax could hardly contain his pride, and yet at the same time kept himself very busy doing everything he possibly could to ensure his mate and their upcoming children could never want for anything. He ranged far and wide to find the necessities to stockpile against potential harder times ahead. And one day while out foraging, a vicious storm caught him unawares and sent him tumbling across the ocean strait and into the lands of the Icewarden. The lair that found him took him in and gave him shelter and food while he recovered his strength. Much as he enjoyed their company, he missed his eggs and mate, and fretted about them daily. When at last the weather cooperated and he found the strength to resume his journeying, he invited some of the ice dragons along with him, an invitation several of the younger ones were happy to accept. The growing clan of dragons rejoined the overjoyed Alizee shortly before the eggs cracked shell. Two dragonlings were born to the fae pair: Coriolis and Analemma.
