Camio likes to consider himself a gentleman adventurer. Before he settled down with the unnamed clan, he cheerfully traveled throughout Sornieth, seeing all that there was to offer. The airship he traveled in is his pride and joy, a remarkable combination of wind and lightning innovation, that he and his friend Crocell built together. Crocell traveled with him, helping to keep the airship up in the air and running smoothly, and inventing whatever he needed to explore the newest place he'd found, even more dangerous than the last. Together they explored the peaks of the Southern Icefield, the depths of the Sea of A Thousand Currents, and the jungles of the Viridian Labyrinth.

Camio always had the Wind flight wanderlust, never happier than when he was exploring. But at the same time, just wandering around on foot, or on his own wings, never felt quite satisfying enough. He wanted to see more than just where he could get to himself. His wings tired, after too long flying, and there were some places, too remote in location or harsh in climate, that he knew he could never reach by himself. When he signed himself onto the crew of a ship who sailed not just the Sea of A Thousand Currents but the ocean surrounding Sornieth, it felt more right than the way he'd been wandering before. It could go to all sorts of new places he could never have reached alone, it traveled beneath him while he slept, and every day he woke to new sights and scenery. It wasn't exactly what he was looking for, but it awoke an idea in him. He sailed happily with the crew until they reached the Shifting Expanse, where he disembarked and went looking for a Lightning dragon willing to be his partner in the grand venture he had planned.

When he described his vision to the first dragons he met who seemed interested in partnership, they laughed in his face. His talk of a massive flying ship, that would sail through the clouds, propelled by Wind and Lightning magic, sounded ridiculous. Who had ever done something like that? They certainly didn't have the blueprints for it. It would get struck out of the sky by lightning, or the turbulent winds of a storm. Camio refused to give up, searching until he met a brilliant, if unorthodox, young inventor. Crocell, instead of laughing at him, listened thoughtfully to Camio's enthusiastic explanations. He didn't know how to build it or make it run, but Wind dragons know a fair amount about balloons, sails, and air currents, and Crocell thought that he could handle the rest. It was a difficult job, but when the two of them managed their first flight, Camio nearly burst with pride. He almost shook Crocell's paw off in gratitude, and when he asked him to sign on as the ship's engineer and the first of his crew, he agreed.

Camio and Crocell traveled all over Sornieth together, picking up like-minded travelers and adventurers. Although members of the crew came and went, Crocell always stayed, enjoying the challenges Camio came up with for him, such as “Can you invent something lightweight that will let me breathe underwater? I want to challenge a kraken to fisticuffs” and “How about a telescope that can see into the next region over? Deuced handy for planning where to go next!” Although they've settled down with the clan now, Camio still has more than a little wanderlust, going off on trips, especially to the recently discovered Golem Workshop, and collecting bits and pieces of things he thinks Crocell can use to invent. Sometimes he even drags Crocell “out of that dusty old laboratory, my good chap” and off on another short adventure.
