No one is exactly who they appear to be. Makkav is the perfect example of this. An artist, musician, and respected clan elder of the clan, he typically presents himself as an easy-going, thoughtful sort of fellow who can be both a friend and a mentor to the younger dragons in his clan. While this is certainly true, there’s also another, more serious side to Makkav. As he grows older, he also finds that it’s easier to become irritated by others. When he’s trying to think, or working hard on composing a beautiful rondeau to play on his horn, this Spiral doesn’t like to be interrupted. The younger dragons in the clan don’t always seem to understand this, and have been on the wrong side of his ire on a few occasions. He really does try to rein it in, as he likes the young dragons in his clan and doesn’t want to scare them off (too much). He has many friends among the clan who appreciate his… efforts, including Orca, Neptune, and Ticore. Makkav has two great loves in his life: music, and his mate Adiela. They’ve both been with him for as long as he can remember, and they both bring him great joy. Of course, he would choose Adiela over his instruments if he had to, he hopes it never comes down to that. He’s also quite close to his daughter, Aleeya. Although they have their generational differences, both dragons have a flair for the artistic. She might prefer more tactile crafts like sewing while he prefers music, but they always have a great time bonding over their projects and plans. In many ways, they share a special bond that not even Adiela completely understands.
