They say that on rare occasions, a dragon will be turned into a half dragon-half animal for their crimes against their kind. Usually prey animals. Small birds, mice, bugs, etc. The dragons then would start to act like the animal they were combined with. Wild, frightened, dangerous. A husk of their former self. Once turned they will never go back. A few of the many reasons why this punishment is only served to the most foul of criminals. After many many generations it was thought to be used only in legends. So you can imagine the shock of Thistleclan when a dusthide with not one, not two, but three animal combinations padded up to them. She had deer antlers on her head for a start. At first they thought it was part of the curse, but upon becoming more acquaintances with the dusthide species they learned that some just had those. But her face was undeniably the face of a rabbit's, and on her back were multiple pairs of bird wings (they confirmed it with the more angelic dragons of the lair just to be sure). Even so when she spoke it lacked the feral-ness that those who were punished had. No bearing of teeth or any display of dominance. Chamomile simply asked for shelter. In return she'd handle their hoard. And well, with a certain gem eater on the loose, Wrendal thought it'd be good to have someone that could scare him off. Even if it was really the reputation that would keep him away. And so here she is, Chamomile, taking stock of the hoard, of who needs what, and when that item was available. No one could pry her wrongdoings out of her. And despite all her gentleness, she did cause quite a scene when Umberbelly tried. Who could blame her though? But who could blame the residents for being wary? It was only given for some pretty terrible crimes after all. Some pretty terrible crimes. |
