The first son of Roujia and Jaxon, the leaders of the group that became the Blackmoon Clan. Dammith's parents were exiled shortly after he was born, so he was cared for by Avedha Echocry, though she raised him more like a warrior than a son. Azshar and Ylva, parents of the late Overseer Austere Blackmoon, had planned for Dammith to be a mate to their daughter; but she rejected him, and as a result he unleashed his inner beast.
Dammith grew up to be a true fighter. After Austere's rejection, he formed his own gang of bounty-hunters and Shade-fighters called the Shadehounds. At first the gang was just a way for Dammith to vent his frustrations and separate himself from the clan that hurt him so many times; but, to everyone's surprise, the Shadehounds became quite successful.
Alpha Dammith and his Shadehounds were highly respected by the dragons of Blackmoon and they enjoyed luxurious lives over those glorious two centuries when the gang was together. Unfortunately, they became too proud, too cocky for their own good. One day they took on a mission that was far beyond their abilities.
Dammith was the only survivor.
Dammith has always been known as bold and feisty battle leader who, despite being a bit of a control-freak, inspired courage and enthusiasm in his supporters and fellow fighters. When he was leading the Shadehounds he even served as the clan's Battlemaster and War Strategist for a few decades.
However, the traumatic experiences he's had throughout his life have certainly taken their toll. These days Dammith is more melancholy and irritable, and he no longer enjoys socializing like he used to. He's still a part of the clan's army, The Vanquishers, though he has given up his position as one of the three leaders. He spends most of his time on solitary hunting missions, during which he gathers plenty of meat for the clan's food-storage.
Dammith is in the darkest stage of his life. He thought all hope was lost, and for some time he considered leaving the clan full of bad memories. But the tiniest spark of hope returned to his soul when he met a guardian named Majora Arcana. He felt connected to her somehow. Had he met her somewhere before? Doubtful; she claimed to be new to the Tangled Wood. Was it romance, attraction? Dammith felt as if this connection was deeper than friendship, but it certainly wasn't romantic.
Relationships
Umbryx Crowclaw (aka Crow) is Dammith's long-time best friend. The two share a dark sense of humor and a drinking habit. They often bicker about pointless topics - seemingly for fun, as any conflict is forgotten by the next day. Crow is pretty much the only one Dammith hangs out with anymore.
Avedha Echocry raised Dammith. He sees her as a motherly figure - authoritative, strong, disciplined - maybe not compassionate, but fair. He never quite gained her sense of discipline but he definitely picked up her feisty personality and high self-esteem. They are both loners and so they don't interact much. What interactions they do have are pleasant, even if they mostly only occur at clan festivals and events.
Abomnis Hailstorm & Helsin Rottenclaw were Dammith's closest companions, and the fellow mirrors who helped him form the Shadehounds. Abomnis, of the Ice flight, was intelligent with a dry humor; and Helsin, of Plague, was a savage fighter and a goofball of a friend. The two were taken down in a fatal encounter with a ridiculously powerful Shade monster now known by the clan as The Beast.
Roujia Starspeaker & Jaxon Sunscorn are his parents, the founders, betrayers and eternal enemies of the Blackmoon Clan. Dammith is ashamed of his heritage, yet thankful to Azshar Blackmoon for bringing him into the clan instead of exiling him along with his parents (or worse). Dammith absolutely hates his parents and will never forgive them - but he can forget them, because he's accepted the Blackmoon Clan as his one and only true family.
