"I hate you", she tells Lanzig bluntly - and hisses when he laughs.

"Ah, Orchid, my lovely Orchid - sweet aroma, soft petals... and poisonous core. You mimic the brightness of Nature and the tranquility of Water... but I know that under all that, under all your beauty you have a heart of ice slowly melting in your chest and making your blood so cold and unforgiving."

His eyes are red and mocking. She hates him at this moment, for he tells the truth, and it hurts. She practically hears the crackling of the ice in her chest.

Suddenly he's near, very near, too near, crowding her - green, orange, red, red, by Icewarden, his eyes are so red.

"Fly with me this spring," he whispers, softly touching her face, his claws clinking on hard frozen crystal of her hide. "Fly with me, my beautiful flower, and I will show you how to live when the ice in your heart will melt under the sun of Dragonhome. We will survive and we will thrive, of that I promise you."

"I hate you," she breathes in reply - and he laughs again.

But this time, for just a moment, she smiles in return.
