The wind sighed gently, brushing against the heated skin of the Matron. She pursed her lips in annoyance as her long wavy ebony tresses danced with the strengthening breeze.
How long had she stood out here?
The marble balcony of her volcanic lair overlooked the ocean, inviting her to enjoy the gradient of blues, purples, and pinks of the tiring sky.
Regen folded her arms over her chest, uncaring of the wrinkles that formed on her chinese royal garb. The deep red and black of the material offset the gleaming gold lining which reflected the last of the dying rays of sunlight onto the marble.
She would often enjoy nature and its wonders, but not this night.
Something heavy and knotted weighed upon the air.
She knew not what it was, but it made her mind restless and her body tense. Her dragons also felt it; they would hear whispers of darkness and hushed garbles of chaos during their patrols of the Aegis territory.
Something was coming.
