Clan lore
Pieces of story can be found throughout dragon's biographies, but here are the clan's founding origins.
The progenitor of the Horsehead Clan hatched out of an egg left behind by his bloodline when their resources grew thin and forced them to abandon the nests in that played-out land. Thusly, unlike most other mirrors, he grew up alone. He carved out a small hiding space between heaps of rock and bone where he scraped out a life in the depleted place. He chose his name, Isaac, from a decaying second era book found in rubbish long ago stripped of anything of value. Without elders' standards to judge worth by, it became his treasure. For company, the Mirror had the skull of a long dead equine. The yellowing bone lay mingled with that of monsters in his hovel where it stood out for the sense and beauty of its form. He took it in with him.
Isolation does strange things to some dragons, Isaac among them. He began hearing a voice coming from that skull. It relayed orders and commands to guide him through his coming of age and the building of his kingdom, his pack.
It may be that it is only his inner voice, externalized. Isaac's research into the matter indicates the skull is a direct line to a second era spirit that knows better than dragonkind. He believes it was his salvation, and communes with it to this day. He confers with it often and follows its guidance blindly.
As a young adult he found himself thrust into leadership as he accumulated a following. Other dragons roaming the harsh world alone found Isaac's endurance a comfort to see. His tenacity and instinctive understanding of the native element made him a fine if odd champion for his first clanmates. He would never develop the ability to express himself well with the usual gestures and as he grew up, realized he liked the silence of solitude. Nevertheless, he does his duty as leader.
The young clan's first trial was the return of Isaac's birth pack. They found the territory they abandoned replenished- and occupied- and if they recognized their chief as kin, it came too late in the game for it to matter. The orphan struck before speaking to them. Their forces were larger, but the Horsehead Clan held their ground. His family of choice survived to prosper.
In the current era, Isaac spends most of his time tracing circuitous routes through outlying territory with a band of Snappers - the somnambulists the closest thing he has to a hunting pack- and together, they gather resources before cycling back to the lair, a sizeable construct of bone and limestone on the southern shore of the Wyrmwound.Pearlcatchers left to decorate in a virulent wasteland develop fearsome and fantastic architecture. A far cry from Isaac's ditch in the Contagion, it is a cathedral, a monument to both death over life and life over death. Its amenities include cold cellars and warm furnaces, electric lights, and magic reactors. It houses guards, brawlers, war mages, bio-magicians, gene smiths, actors, artisans.
Everyone under the sun.

Breeding Groups
Generally, the clan has dragons for sale. All dragons stemming from color projects are initially listed unnamed in the global AH for 10-30kt on average for a minimum of five days.
We have sacrifices if you have stone
Purpose-bred fodder and project offspring that go unsold more than a five days are named and trained to level six. Sometimes they are sold in the global AH at fair but competitive gem prices according to the market. Prices checked every three days. Other times, they are exalted outright.
Some of them are nice looking dragons that just hung around too long. If you would like to buy one for breeding or as a character, just send a PM and you may buy it for its original treasure price instead of gems if you prefer.
Blackbirds are shades of black. Many doubles and triples are produced in this group.
Sulfurics: Vibrant shades of yellow. Their color range currently overlaps a bit with the pumpkin patchers', so some bridge the gap between yellow and orange.
Pumpkin Patchers are shades of orange. Ideally all fall between Marigold and Pumpkin, although some shy into yellow in one or two ranges.
Muck dragons: In their infancy despite their numbers. Currently consist of muted greys and browns, especially clay.
Banana splits: just one very nice pair. Chocolate, banana, and a pale tertiary, in iri or crystal with shimmer and underbelly or ringlets. Coatl/Skydancers.
Fine wine is one pair of well-matched red-range Skydancers. Iri, shimmer, gembond, beautiful.
Meatdancers are red-and-flesh-range Skydancers with near-white wings and reddish or dark tertiaries, meant to mimic the appearance of anatomical drawings.
Cherry trees are two Guardians colored like petals and boughs and hillsides.
Eyeblinders are blue-based with or without warm toned secondaries and tertiaries.
Subset: Pink Lemonade: lurid shades of pink, with other shades for contrast.
Other dragons: Several first generation nocturnes, white and grey pairs, and unmatched dragons kept for personality rather than color.

Truce: A Legacy of War Challenge
In a move to improve relations with the nearest Nature clan, the Horsehead Clan has begun a breeding project that will bleed their lines together. The lore thread for Truce can be found here, but do note lore is not always up to date.
At present time, 3/31/19, lore is up to "D" Generation for both lineages. Line 1 is actually on "M" Generation and Line 2 is on "K" Generation.
