Considering in the book, the only cure (a potato) to the Venomous Vorpent’s venom is found in a place that doesn’t exist (the americas), it would be hilarious if she came back with a rainbow-colored slitherwing and a potato. She thinks she’d the first person to have tamed a dragon since she missed the movies.

Also I know the books and films are finally different but a part of me wishes they replaced the nine realm’s Jormungandr with the Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus from the book. Why not bring the BIGGEST dragon rather than going into the can of worms that is canonizing myth?

And it's so sad cause you can see the warning signs in RTTE, as much as I love some plot developments like the various cultures, Heather returning with Windshear (also proof you can make a 'feminine' dragon without... *gestures at Light Fury sadly*), or Dagur becoming their weird feral dog.

I swear I feel like it happened only for the Doylist reason of "we need hiccup and toothless to be SPECIAL," especially with the first draft (that Steven Spielberg supposedly cried reading) where Toothless reunites with a flock of Furies at the end.
