The Springcrest Clan
In Adoration of The Living and Boundless Wild
Within the thick and wild brush of the Shrieking Wilds, something close to a clearing can be seen. There in the heart of the wilderness will you find the strange yet enchanting settlement of the Springcrest Clan.
Overhead, upon the outpost of a giant sequoia, a large and vigilant figure with a set of watchful eyes calmly, yet intently observes your approach. Ahead, just on the horizon, a teeming network of dens, varying widely in shape, size, and denizens. As you come closer, the menagerie of dragons comes into view, and prudence are there many. Gardeners, shaman, merchants, mages, and more weave about the landscape in their daily activities, the laughter of hatchlings audible within the thick of the carefully tended groves and greenery.
Someone has spotted you.
“A visitor!” Cries an impish voice from the flock of performing artists. “Hey, call the chiefs up! We got company!”
The bustle of the clan is enough to distract you from whatever nerves you may have. Some bounce about with excitement, others eye you with confusion and even suspicion. It is a sea of differing personalities, all chattering and lively in their own varying reactions.
You see a group of eleven emerge from the manifold dens, stately, well decorated, and with noticeable status in the colony. The flock of residents follows round about them as they come to greet you
A small hand emerges from the group and waves off the masses.
“Settle down! Settle down!” A small voice advises. The chatter dies down gradually in reply.
Finally, one of the lofty eleven comes forward…
He’s… comically small. So small in fact, that he has to use his wings and hold a hover to keep at eye level with you. Close by, a great warrior stays at his side. Her expression is sharp as iron, yet undecided about your presence here. She meets eyes with the Fae in his hover, and he gives a small nod, crests relaxed yet raised and alert.
“Greetings, traveler.” The pint-sized leader begins. “My apologies for the commotion. I am Chief Perses of the Springcrest clan, I offer you a warm welcome. We here forge a common bond with nature and her everchanging ways. By working alongside her, and maintaining respect for her, all things flourish through every season and change she may bring forth. This is the heart and soul of our Clan.”
The Fae looks about, seeming to wonder where to start.
“Perhaps you’d like a look around? Chief Loa and I can get you settled in if you’d like.”
