CLAN WYRD

The Wyrd Clan was founded by two matrons - practitioners of mystical arts - who created a found family to replace their blood family. Hekate, an Arcane Fae, her Shadow Guardian friend from studying arcane arts, Estrella, and Estrella's partner Aegir, a Nature Tundra, were Bound.

During her studies, Hekate met a metallurgist Pearlcatcher, Hephaestus, who seemed disillusioned with the academy and seeking new purpose - and soon the two couples would settle in the Daylight Sanctum and create their matriarchal clan.

With some growth and resources, the Wyrd clan would eventually align with Arcane associates and forge a Light/Arcane clan that accepted founding members from all flights. Radaghast's goal is to make Wyrd a Light/Arcane/Nature clan, as he feels it was destined to become, secured by Aegir's role as consort.

Despite being a multi-flight fledgling clan, the two founding factions of Wyrd are ultimately aligned with the Will of the Lightbringer, as all members either left their existing flights to found Wyrd as a Light clan, or were born into it. New members (the player-member, not their dragons) to the clan may be from Light, Arcane, or Nature, and may choose if, aside from defending clan-mates, their lairs are part of their own new sub-factions (preferred to inserting themselves into Fern Hollow or Elm Haven), and if they are overall aligned with their player-chosen flight, or follow the leader's of Wyrd in their Light allegiance.

They set to work drawing like-minded dragons to their new clan - like Estrella - who were inclined to take a different path than what was typical or expected of a Guardian. The Wyrdlings revere the three C's: compassion, communication, and cats, do not appreciate limitations to their quest for knowledge, restrictions on their craft, or escalations of violence where words could have been used instead. They are warm to allies and each other, but isolated and suspicious towards outsiders.

Wyrd has founding members who were outliers from many flight types - most flights have at least one representing member in Wyrd. The goal of diversity rather than elitist focus on a single flight type is an evident priority, as is, for now, breeding over exalting aside from ritual or request to be exalted from the individual. These are dragons who are outcasts from their Flights or who believe the flights should work together with other like-minded dragons and not always fight and be at odds.
