. . . odd. These trees seem to be emerging from the roots of the Behemoth itself.

The creatures that hail from this lair inhabit many shadows of the Waystone. They remember not the depths from which they came. An ancient river is rumored to flow through the area - although no cartographer can agree on its exact location. Upon this river a clan of Cathonic beasts presides over two houses; The Living and The Dead.

Flameforger's Catastrophe 2024
Fire raged for days on end. The Dead uplifted the Living from their smoking nests, and took them to the place where the fire's rage had already succumbed to a quiet ashfall. They flocked, traveling south along a passageway of scorched earth.
In the hearts of the Dead, embers of the home tree remained trapped and ever-burning. The Living, however, felt no such warmth; the scorch left only agony. Loss. Memories stored in the foundations of their home, struck aside by wild flame! With resentment and bitter hearts, many of the flock fled to the Gladekeeper's Great Canopy.
The rest would journey through the land of embers, searching for a greener habitat...
Shadows Fall 2025
Having traversed miles of scorched earth, Ghoulden Grove emerged from the smoke...and fell into shadow. Quite literally, for Zagreus, who tumbled right off the edge of a cliff, flaming sword and all.
The Dead feel right at home, although The Living have found themselves relatively...uncomfortable. They have already begun negotiations about their next direction, if they should follow the wind, or perhaps the light? Oxidia is of the opinion that lightning will strike this argument down. Plasmius simply plans on infecting everybody with plague. The debate continues.
