STAR SPACE is a strange, nebulous place that lies between dimensions. When dragons arrive in this realm, many find themselves comfortable in its archipelago of floating islands under an eternally star-filled sky. If they do ever find themselves missing their old homes or wishing to move on, however, gateways exist around the islands that lead to and from a variety of other worlds.
The many, flight-themed islands of STAR SPACE exist in orbit around a larger, central island that serves as a gathering point for the archipelago's residents. On smaller masses of material between these are the aforementioned gateways; portal-like doorways allowing dragons to enter and leave this in-between realm as they please, if they now where the entrance is in the world on the other side. They have a pull that tends to attract some dragons to their hidden locations, though it is unclear why they only call to certain dragons...
