In the far reaches of the Windswept plateau lies a prosperous, diverse city by the name of Galstrand. Galstrand is unremarkable in all aspects, except one. Every 12 years, one resident of Galstrand is called away, disappearing under mysterious circumstances. Whether that be vanishing into a raging wildfire or disappearing via a tunnel that leads deep into the earth, Galstrand has experienced 11 notable disappearances over its storied history. |

Ever since the lastest disappearance of Galstrand's former Grand Magistrate Civyss, the town has not known peace. Irgen, Civyss's husband, has replaced her as Grand Magistrate, and he, alongside the other members of the Conclave, have been struggling to keep the city calm.
