Yes, some stones can only be used by dragons of certain elements (the stones specify which dragons can use it) & they will have different elemental weaknesses

I use it for my hatchery all the time; I'll send my Nature pair to a Nature user to hatch a nest & the babies will turn out as Nature dragons, whereas if I had nested them myself, they'd be Lightning dragons

If you send your own dragons to another user who's part of a different flight, & that user has those dragons lay a nest there, the hatchlings will match the element of the user you sent them to. Lots of users are willing to rent out their nests
