The City of Dusk
It was inspiring in its beauty.
It remains compelling in its despair.
Moldering and forgotten in the depths of the Foxfire Bramble, the City of Dusk was little more than a foxhole for brigands and degenerates–the labyrinthine infrastructure and chaotic cityscape made an excellent setting for shady dealings and skulking in the shadows. The ancient buildings long since devastated by a long-passed calamity, little remained of what was once a capital of learning and magical study; temples toppled, libraries looted, much had been lost from the years before the mysterious event that sent the city to its grave.
Life staggered back into the city alongside a young woman, a stranger to the shadows, but possessed of an undeniable–and some say foolish–conviction…
The Noble Quarter
As its name implies, the noble quarter houses the richest denizens of the helical city, and it shows–a significant amount of coin has been dedicated to the renovation and restoration of the upper ring. The result has been the creation of a luxurious and gothically beautiful neighborhood, its haunting spires visible from any point in the city. Few have the wealth to reside here, and even fewer have a desire to, as the in-fighting and maneuvering of the Twilit Court is known to all.

Midtown
Midtown is curiously out of place with the architectural history of the rest of the city. The gargoyles and spires that mark both the noble quarter and the slums are notably absent here, replaced instead with arches and a maze-like configuration of streets and alleys, as if the builders were forced to squeeze everything within a small space. Regardless, its residents are experts at navigating the area and are very proud of their sense of community.

The Slums
Serving as the gateway to the catacombs ranging beneath the city, the slums are the last resort of the criminals and undesirables that called the city home before its new influx of residents. Still in a state of ruin, few of the city's upper citizens dare venture here, for fear of pickpockets and worse. None know what exactly lurks in the dark alleys and around the crumbling corners, but even those who call the level home know to step lightly.

The Wildfolk
Few dare venture into the black depths of the Foxfire Bramble, afraid to lose their way in a forest that has claimed so many. However, several creatures quite happily call this place home, and if one is lucky, perhaps they will find themselves guided from the dark by the mysterious druids wandering between the trees.
