Welcome to Soi Horai
On the cliffs at the edge of the Tangled Wood, where the waves of the Sea of A Thousand Currents break against the dark stone of the shoreline, lies Soi Horai. This ruined palace of the Second Age sprawls along the cliff top, silent stone columns now keeping company with the trees who have grown up and through the roofs of the ancient complex. Vines twist and rend their way through cracks in the walls, mirroring the underground maze of caves and passages that run from the palace through the cliffs, ending in a massive cavern, where an underground river bubbles up and joins with the Sea.
A clan of dragons has taken root here; thieves and explorers, nobles and merchants, witches and faeries, mages and scholars. The clan is raucous, but not unmanageable, and after some strife, (and a few magical "accidents") was organized by their matriarch into four factions, each with their own sphere of influence. Taking their cue from the name of the ancient palace they've commandeered, each faction is named after a time of day; a metaphor that symbolizes, despite the delineation between the factions, that the clan functions as one.

The Factions of Soi Horai
the Daybreakers, a motley crew of thieves and explorers, who fly where they will and steal what they may. They are the dragons responsible for gathering and scavenging, a task they accomplish with great relish. Their colors are leaf and sky.
the Court of Twilight, a collection of nobles, warriors and bureaucrats, who manage the defense and the administration of the clan (when they can stop scheming against each other). They are the public face of the clan, and are heavily invested in establishing the clan as a power in the region. Their colors are purple and silver.

the Midnight's Coven, the conclave of witches, warlocks and faeries that produce both the majority of the clan's tradable goods and the most of its magical explosions. They specialize in original potions and custom spells, the fruits of a collection of innovative and often eccentric minds. Their colors are midnight and obsidian.
the Dawn's Children, an order of teachers and scholars, with a two-fold purpose: first to raise and educate the hatchlings, the second to research the world around them, utilizing both magic and technology. They are dedicated to upholding and preserving the history of both the clan and the palace complex where they've found their home. Their colors are magenta and lavender.
