The glow from your swaying lantern lit up the dirt path in front of you. As you look up, moonlight streamed across your face. "I wonder what time it is?", you muttered. The dark branches form laces in the sky that awkwardly dances as the night wind grew stronger. Suddenly, a howling sound appeared, seemingly from the belly of the Foxfire Bramble. A strong gust of wind screamed past and lifted your feet off the ground. The cold air grazed your face and circled around you as it finally stops to extinguish your lantern. The darkness sprung back to its place.

You scrambled to retrieve matches from your cloak but they refuse to strike. As you went to pick up another, something blinked at you from the corner of your eye. You involuntarily turned your head and immediately caught your breath as you noticed a creature sitting amongst the brambles.

"Hello?" you cried out, with remnants of your breath getting into your voice somehow. The beast was silent and continued to look straight into you with her purple eyes glowing from the moonlight. "Well, I best be on my way now," you added in half-hysterical facetiousness. A slight grin emerged from the darkness. "Would you like to play a game with us?", the voice beckons. The stories did warn you from traveling too far off the highway. Now that you realise you are in the lair of clan Nocturna Tempora, it might be too late for regrets. Her inky black claws twitched as she stepped forward out of the shadows.
