We of the Shroud live within the anonymity of untruths; we thrive in the mists of confusion that surrounds us. Like death itself, we are hidden- shrouded, in lack of a better word- in mystery, for no one knows who we are, where we reside, or what we want.
Ah. It seems that I have told you an untruth. There is one thing that everyone knows about us. That is only that if you please us, we will protect you. Like the unseen hand of a deity, we will assist you from the shadows. But if you cross us... well then, we will come after you. And like the death that our deity so liberally brings, we will find you.
