ABOUT THE CLAN

The Clan of Sun's Gift is a traveling Clan, who has for now found comfort in nestling near the Daylight Sanctum. Though it does cause slight concern to sometimes hear the trampling footsteps of the Emperor dragon which resides just miles away, Myorrhith and Ancoceth have made good effort to choose that the Clan make camp in a spot where it seldom comes close.

The Sun's Gift Clan is heavily superstitious. Or -- at least, some of its members are. The superstitions are dying out as generations come and go, though the current leader may pass it down to her successor when the time comes to have one. It is uncertain whether or not the cycle of worry will continue, but anyone who knows Myorrhith will say that it will.

The Clan of Sun's Gift is always willing to take in dragons in need, offering food and shelter to those who may not have immediate access to such necessities. They are also always extending a claw out to the other Clans that they come in contact with, searching for trade partnerships and the like. The Sun's Gift clan is rather generous, and its members are taught to be caring and compassionate to at least a minor degree. They do not have much at times, but it hardly matters, for they're happy enough with what they've got to give it to others who need it more.

there is an underlying sense of deja vu . something doesn't feel quite right here . is it the clan, or is it you, traveler ?

you've been walking. goodness knows how long -- you've just been walking. you're lost, hungry, and tired, and you wish you never left your home. but you had to. something was calling you to do so, something that wouldn't leave you alone until you left the secure border of your clan's land. you've seen a few other dragons here and there, and caught yourself some prey occasionally, but it grew sparse about a day ago.
the sun is almost blinding here, where the grass is yellow and near-dead and ancient buildings hold their scattered remains. you squint against the bright light, against that ball of flame in the sky that nearly mocks you with how bright it's burning, and you hardly see the dragon approaching you in the air.
he descends to your level, his long body drifting downwards like a rag of silk; smooth, almost elegant even. he wears a black lion's head on his own, masking most of his appearance, but you can see vibrant green eyes that swirl softly. there is no malice in his demeanor, but you bristle -- this is the first dragon who's approached you on your journey, and it's hard to trust those that aren't your own kin. he sees your reaction and he chuckles.
"no need for that, friend. I won't harm you."
he sounds kind enough, so you relax just slightly. you ask him who he is, and weirdly enough, he laughs again. you don't recall saying anything funny.
"that isn't important. what is important, however, is that you seem out of place. exhausted..."
you nod, and he continues on.
"would you like a place to stay?"
you're unsure. you are quite tired, and you could use a proper meal, but... you don't know this dragon. he won't even tell you his name. as you think to yourself, he raises an eyebrow ridge, awaiting your response. there's something... odd, about the way he looks at you. it feels more like staring, and his swirling eyes are nearly hypnotic. you contemplate more, and eventually give in.
"good, good... before I do take you there, I must ask. who are you?"
the question -- it shouldn't be disorienting, but it is. you fumble for a moment with your own name, unsure of if it's even spelt right in your head - is there a green fog growing around you two? that wasn't there just a moment ago...
"ah- nevermind. i know already. come on then,"
he speaks to you with a sickly sweet tone as he begins to guide you off, towards a cluster of broken buildings. the fog makes your thoughts hazy, it feels heavy much like your tired limbs...
you feel about ready to succumb to the exhaustion, until the sound of heavy wingbeats fill the air. a new voice fills your head, one that sounds regal and feminine.

"that's enough, Michael. let them go."
the dragon beside you huffs, his shoulders slumping.
"you're no fun."
"that sounds like a problem of your own... now, go."
her voice firms up, and the green fog fades away. Michael gives you one final glance, and then takes off into the sky, his body twisting in loop-de-loops of flight. you turn to face the source of the new voice, and are met by a brilliant blue imperial. she gives you a motherly sort of look, one full of worry and genuine care.
"are you hurt at all?"
you shake your head no.
"good, good... my, you look tired. do you have a place to go? a clan to go to?"
you nod, but mention that it's far away from where you are now. speaking of... where are you? you ask her this, and she says,
"oh- you've reached the daylight sanctum, friend. my clan lives near this place, if you need shelter for some time."
you decide to take her up on her offer, not having the energy to argue or decline. she nods and leads you to a semi-populated clearing, full of dens and nests and such. there is no tense energy in the air, but instead, a friendly and warm environment.
"welcome,"
Myorrhith begins,
"to the clan of sun's gift. you may stay as long as you'd like. Michael cannot reach you here."
