Clan Bio

Fierce warriors and hunters, Clan Varkhas has been characterised since its early days by large packs of Mirrors, whose temperament has left an imprint on the clan as a whole. In years past, they roamed the darkest thickets of the tangled wood, but today Varkhas are unified by their devotion to the Flamecaller, and the clan has undergone structural and cultural changes since relocating to her lands. Blacksmiths and armourers who once worked with bog iron in backwoods forges now flourish under the patronage of their fiery goddess, and the seers whose prognostications guide the clan divine their omens from the flames.

Considered barbarians by many, Clan Varkhas retains much of its wild nature. Great emphasis is placed on battle and the hunt, and Varkhas raiding parties often make little distinction between the two. Many of the clan's warriors are berserkers, and it is a common practice among them to wear the hides, pelts, skulls, horns and bones of prey and vanquished enemies.

Varkhas denotes its territory with claw-carved runestones, typically made by the clan's Guardians. In areas rife with conflict, wayfarers may instead find curse-poles decorated with bones and broken weapons, though most territorial demarcations are less hostile.

Varkhas maintains tenuous relations with several small beast groups, but for the most part their relationship with the beastclans is one of constant warfare. This is inevitable, as the clan's merciless raids spare nothing; even other dragon clans are sometimes targets of this wild hunt, their ranks and holdings decimated by the berserk fury of the Ashfall Wolves.

The clan takes bonda of honour seriously and hold allied clans in great esteem, though these allies are few, as Varkhas has a shadowed reputation.
