On the border of the Scarred Wasteland and the Sea of a Thousand Currents, there lies an island monastery inhabited by mostly Plague, Water, and Nature dragons. The rulers of the main clan of the island, Eirwen and Sirius, are also the leaders of an unusual druidic order that reigns over the island chain of other minor clans. The druids have a unique power beyond the magic of Plague and Nature. By combining horticulture with dark magic, they have created a plant that, when eaten, causes extremely vivid and powerful prophetic visions. The visions are real, not given or controlled by a god, and can be had by any dragon whether or not they are a seer.
Using their powerful dark magic and this unique plant, these druids took over the island and established themselves as a major power. They sell their gift to other clans for a hefty price, on rare occasions letting buyers consume the plant for themselves. Though, unfortunately, there is a negative side effect to the plant. It has a paralytic agent that builds up in the body. The more a dragon consumes, the greater the risk. High-ranking druid-priests do not last long, eventually succumbing to full-body paralysis. Once this happens, magically, they are fused to the land itself. Their soul fuses with the island to grow more of the prophetic plant.
Now, back to Eirwen and Sirius. They are, as previously stated, the leaders of the druidic order. They are lovers, and accept any dragon into their clan, as long as they respect their use of the prophetic plant. If a dragon does not, they are to be banished from the clan, and most likely the entire island chain. Other than that, there is nothing that stops the powerful leaders from loving their subjects. In fact, there is not much about these subjects to hate. They are all just as accepting as Eirwen and Sirius, they are encouraging, they give good support, and they are suspiciously good doctors.
As time goes on, more dragons fall victim to paralysis from this plant, but less and less seem to care. Dragons only want their sweet prophetic visions, and they'll do anything to get them. Some fight to the death over small amounts of the plant, others pass around large sums of treasure to get their claws on it. Some dragons only like it a little bit, and others worship it with every last breath, every fiber of their being. But they all have one thing in common: They all want it.
