The Dancing Stars
Alexandra, daughter of the Star Watcher Zenthra, left the clan she was born to found her own. She navigated by the stars in her wandering, following them until she found Taigan, a pale tundra whose body was covered in runes. The tundra had set up camp in a small cave, and invited Alexandra to stay for the night.
Somehow, the coatl never got around to leaving.
Over time, other dragons came to the cave, asking to stay for the night. Most left the next morning, but occasionally one would ask if they could stay longer. Each time, Alexandra read the stars, divining the proper course. Most she turned away, but a few have been allowed to join the pair in their lair.
Later on, a group of dragons wandered into the cave during a storm, calling themselves the steelborn The children had been abandoned for exhibiting the metallic gene, as the clan they were from had never seen it before, and its leaders were frightened by anything out of the ordinary.. Only two were adults - Mer, a nightwing, and Cierge, a skydancer. The other three, Quorot, Ulgo, and Mentor, were hatchlings, cared for by the odd pair as the two would care for their own children. Mentor was the oldest of the hatchlings, and often helped take care of the other two, teaching them what little he knew. Mer and Cierge pleaded with Alexandra to let them stay, and the coatl, after consulting the stars, allowed it.

Traditions
Whenever the clan faces an important decision, Alexandra consults the stars to divine the proper course, and Taigan consults the gods. Together they determine what the clan should do.
Alexandra holds a celebration each year on the day she met Taigan, A rather solemn affair involving the entire clan gathering in a circle around a campfire outside the lair, basking in the starlight as she reads them to determine the clan’s fortune in the coming year.
When a child is born in the clan, or a new member is accepted by the star’s decree, their role is determined by either Taigan or Alexandra, with the coatl consulting the stars and the tundra communing with the gods.
