Chapter I Of The Plagueland Records

You are lost deep within the Scarred Wasteland. All around you, the desolate remains of a once great land can be seen. Bones of great dragons litter the red sand as plants wither away and animal bones scatter in the wind. As you wander around, searching for an exit, you wonder how anything could live here. You cannot believe your eyes when you see a small glowing city nestled between the plateaus of bones. As you near the city, you pass under the hollow skulls of two Imperial dragons, a sign hanging from their jaws proclaiming the words: FAMINE, THE CITY OF THE LOST. BEWARE ALL YE WHO ENTER FOR CERTAIN DEATH AWAITS. Behind the walls, however, lay a different story. Plants flourish, carving a pathway of green toward the city square, where a great statue of the Plaguebringer sits atop a massive pedestal. Dragons of all size, species, and age bustle about, attending to their daily chores. As you stare in awe, a great jet black dragon swoops in from above. He is handsome Imperial dragon but his stern gaze frightens you. "State your business at Famine or be turned away from our gates," He declared. "The sign was not placed there as a joke. Any trespassers will be punished severely." Your legs begin to shake as you stammer out, "I-I-I'm l-l-lost." The Imperial gives you an inquisitive look, then shrugs. "My name is Ameridan. I am both king and high general of this city. Welcome to our humble city and be proud to be a Plaguelander."
