I (try to) give my hatchlings meaningful or at last unique names, something that in my mind fits with the spirit of my lair. It's often in theme of nature, primal believes or gods of old.
Lately I even try to attach an explanation of "what-the...-does-it-mean" to dragons I sell but if you're interested I can wax more poetic about any particular name (unless it's the case of "oh, I just felt like it" - it sometimes happens).
If you however don't like the name of a dragon you bought, feel free to change it and remove description.
I might be a bit unhappy if you were to name them something like "Dragon01" but I'll live.
