Updated Dragon Leveling Guide!
Liung's Clan
Clan Info
Right now I'm having fun matching dragon breeds with mythic pantheons as a naming scheme. Female Crimson Coatl? Obviously going to name her after the Mayan Blood Moon Goddess.
Undecided pantheons: Babylonian, Egyptian, Serer, Taoist
Undecided dragons:
Ridgeback (Cunning, borrowing, tunnelling, aversion to water, good-natured but sometimes short tempered)
I was playing around with dragons bred in the clan being named after angels, before realizing that Guardians are of course the natural choice for Malakim, the Watchers. Which is why there's some Fae in my lair with malak names; I haven't yet gotten around to renaming them to Tuath Dé names.
I still haven't decided on some, and it's driving me up the wall that I don't have the proper words to describe certain pantheons—"Loa", "Kami", "Deva", "Akua", etc being the proper words for deities/supernatural beings of their respective pantheons; to refer to them as "gods" is imprecise at best and inaccurate at worst. So it's driving me nuts that I can't find the proper word for Mayan deities, or even the proper name of the sect of ancient China. The Ancient Japanese followed the teachings of Shinto, and worshipped Kami; that's easy to find, Shinto exists to this day. But Chinese? I was lucky to stumble across the deities being referred to as Shen, and I'm still not really certain it's the correct word.
This is intended as an exercise in respect and appreciation of the amazing multitude of polytheistic pantheons, not in offensive cultural misappropriation. I want to get things right, so pretty please tell me if I made a mistake somewhere. I'll be overjoyed to get firm confirmation on things.
And feel free to make suggestions on what pantheon could possibly suit Ridgebacks. I've run out of creativity here, and I'm about to cave and go with Egyptian based solely on
Ridgebacks = like to burrow, hate water
Egypt = sand, desert
Which is weeeeeeak! But I got nothing else.

That is indeed an accent I made :DDD
love the name, I think it suits him ^^ a lot of the names I pick are a loose mixture of their parents' names :)
ah! I'm delighted you like him ^^ and thank you for reminding me to name his father, think naming him after the physicist Pierre Curie will match nicely with his mother, Salomea, named after the first woman awarded a Nobel Prize
Ahahaha thank you! I like combining different items into something new xD
