Dear faithful journal,

Here, I've been welcomed into a den of inspiring beings. Although I was a distracted child, they've opened my eyes to the opportunities of study and education. I thought it was great here. Khi told me many stories about the land I couldn't yet touch, Rivergold entertained me with sparklers and magic potions. When I grew old, I never knew that writing and poetry would be my future desire. I'm glad it turned out this way. I'm the only dragon in this entire den with the capacity to write about the terrors this place keeps behind a facade of happiness and 'opportunity.'

They breathe lies of equality of every Flight. Everyone knows that this isn't the case, no matter where you decide to rest your weary bones. The Dominance is a cruel system that every Flight partakes in, the furious race to stack the top rank. Here, dragons argue all the time that their Flight is the most worthy, the strongest, that their Flight will crush your flag, and along with it, your bones. At first it was frightening but then it became the norm. I remember I was shouted at by Avaria when I was a hatchling. He told me that if I grew to be a dedicated member of my Flight, he would end me, thread me into a knot that could not be untied. Although, with every storm comes the sliver of light. I thank Khi with every opportunity I get for settling that unneeded nonsense. I despise Avaria; how dare you threaten an innocent hatchling in such a violent manner?

There are many more problems that I wish to address, but do not have the ink and words to describe them. I'm trying my best to settle the unnecessary brutality that this den contains. I pray for the good that is still left here. May they remain strong against times like these.
