Deep within the spire
By my wing, my tooth, my claw
I live and sleep and hunt here
Through the blizzard and the thaw

My wings are broad and heavy
They curl around my kin
They fly me out to hunt my prey
And bring me back again

My teeth are at the ready
To protect me as I grow
They gently guide my hatchlings
But they pierce my fiercest foe

My claws are sharp from battle
Like thorns they guard my lair
The friend need never fear them
But enemies beware
