Yeah, I get that! NY was quite different from what I'm used to, lol. I lived in a small city in Germany that just felt perfect (in-between small town and proper city feel), so I'd like to live there or somewhere similar again.
It's a bit jarring, but if you're flexible and versed in the culture then the relocation process isn't bad. That being said, your mileage may vary, as I'm the type of person who can be as comfortable living in a tent on a cold beach as I am in my own home.
WA is also really bad for transport. Haha, thanks, and good luck getting a job in either of those cities! I'm self-employed right now, but I'm looking into employers with job opportunities in Europe because it's easier to start a job here and then transfer
Yeah, the West Coast has a dearth of public transportation options. Portland, Oregon, is okay, but not even the best. I almost moved to Boston for a job last summer! I was on the East Coast for the first time this summer and I enjoyed the public transport.
The states, unfortunately, but here's hoping that I get to move to Germany in the future, lol. At least there I can lead an independent life despite not being able to drive. :P
