The name comes from the colossus dragon known as Hajnalhang, the father of dusk and dawn who came in the early hours of the morning to spread the wonders of the Lightbringer herself. He would also come to visit during the last hours of daytime and bring the cold and refreshing breeze of the Windsinger, before letting the world fall into darkness. Ever since the dragons of the flying corps discovered his spiritual presence they left the realm of the ever peaceful bamboo forests and chose to follow the ways of the light, thus establishing their lair in the Sunbeam ruins. The dragons of the Hajnalhang now worship the day/night cycle, often associating it with the cycle of life and death and the path leading to knowledge. They are now awaiting to host the reincarnation of their legendary figure, Hajnalhang.
The clan was formerly known as "The Realm of the Cloudwalkers" and "The flying corps".
Valeera was the first dragoness to form the lair of the Cloudwalkers and along with her mate, Shade, ruled the clan until the day of her mate's departure. She was loathed because of her cruel and unforgiving nature, and once she lost her power, she was banished but later forgiven by the newer generations. While she was away, the pearlcatcher known as Baine took her place and ruled the clan using a different, yet still ineffective form of rulership. He soon gave up and abandoned his clan along with his family to serve the Windsinger, his fifth son, Cameron chose to stay so he could restore his father's honor, even if that would've been considered impossible. After the behavior of the treacherous leaders, the clan council chose five trustworthy dragons who would participate in a contest for leadership. Their names were Coriolis the Lightbringer, Toulouse the Mavin, Mercutio the Herald, Gustave the Berseker and Stormweaver the Crier. Coriolis defeated his adversaries in a fair battle and became the rightful ruler and king of Hajnalhang, setting in place monarchy.
Then the years of famine began, food was scarce and so was working power of the kingdom, traders choosing to overlook the region in which the lair was situated. Thus the second rebellion began, following many casualties, two major factions battling for what seemed to be two bloody outcomes. The Purge, in which dragons labelled as undutiful would be banished, and the Cleanse in which the great five would be executed by the extremist dragons of the rebellion.
The Factions
Dragons born in the lair are given the choice of leaving the Hajnalhang or prove themselves worthy of being members of the three factions. The rank in the clan is always based on their age. A dragon younger than two months old is given the title of new member or cloud walker. The one between two and eight months old is given the title of full member or wind walker and goes through a period of apprenticeship until it reaches eight months of age. Then, after passing the test of determination (Which consists of a series of challenges) the dragon receives the rank of honorary member or sun walker. The dragons older than two years old are considered elders or moon walkers.
The three main factions are:
The dawnfeather which consists of the members of the royal council, trade masters, scholars, philosophers, elders.
The duskfeather which consts of the workers, artists, gatherers, traders, teachers..etc..
And the stormwind which consists of the royal guard, lair protectors and darkspears (trainers of dragons who are exalted to the Lightweaver)
