Skincent time!!
In the light of dawn, on the rim of the Wyrmwound, a hatchling Wildclaw was hunting. As her prey stalls, she crouches and wriggles her hindquarters in anticipation of the leap.
Three..
Two..
One…
Before her parents could shout for her to stop, to step back, she had pounced, her momentum carrying her and the rat into the rancid Wyrmwound itself.
A minute passed and her parents grieved, for surely their hatchling had perished, and even in Plague such a thing was tragedy.
The surface rippled, and bubbled. Before their astonished eyes, their baby crawled out.. but she was changed. She and the rat had become one, forever more.
A mutation befitting Plague, indeed.
