Most magic is not something that humanity possesses naturally. The world of humans is devoid of magic and, as such, there is no single person who can naturally control fire nor create a burst of lightning. Humans just simply do not have the capability to preform such feats. That isn't to say that humans have no unique abilities and 'most magic' is definitely the operative phrase. Humans have the ability to create opening between their world and a world containing an immense amount of magic to allow inhabitants of that world to briefly cross over. They have the magic of Summoning. These magic beings that come from this other world are referred to as spirits and they can take an almost infinite amount of forms and have any sort of personality that humans can have. However, summoning is a fickle art. You can't simply expect random steps in some impromptu summoning ritual to actually summon a spirit. No, generally you must find out about how to summon a spirit either from a tome, someone else, or even another spirit gives you a recommendation. Th exact point of these summons would be the contracts you are able to form with spirits. Spirits can grant you abilities or items under certain conditions that vary from spirit to spirit. A fire-centered spirit might grant you the ability to breath fire but only if you eat five pieces of charcoal beforehand. Want to wield a sword like an expert? Well, find yourself a spirit who is more combat-oriented and make a contract. Spirits can only offer abilities and items that they themselves possess. The more powerful the spirit, generally the more fickle and harder to please they are.

For ages now, spirits and humans lived within this balance. However, something horrible has begun to happen. Humans have turned into twisted, dark beings who seem bent on destruction. No one is sure of the reason this is happening but many think it has to be caused by a spirit. The only problem with this theory is that there have been too many cases of this happening for it to just be people happening to summon a particular spirit. It almost seemed as though the spirits connected to the people themselves are being corrupted and transferring the corruption onto the humans they hold contracts with. This was an obvious concern to the ruler of a very prominent kingdom. Pouring through the tomes within the royal library, he found a book referencing a ceremony that would allow humans to pass though to the world of spirits. Seeing this as a potential solution, he put out a request for volunteers for an expedition to look into this ritual. The ritual itself required three items from three different locations to be gathered and brought to some structure where a ceremony would be formed to open the gate to the other world. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but it is the only glimmer of hope the world has to possibly stop these monstrosities.

Name: Rowan Hearthfell

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Bisexual (Female Preference)

Spirits:
Gurgus- A extremely large spirit with a bulbous torso with a singular eye on it which covers most of the torso, a very small head-like feature above the torso with only a mouth on it, very long and thin arms with disproportionately large hands, stubby legs, large feet, and green skin. He is very loud and boisterous, tens to act very fatherly towards Rowan. Their contract gave Rowan the magic of alchemy but he must allow Gurgus to teach him how to use the magic of alchemy and Rowan must present him with alcohol and tobacco whenever he is summoned.

Perseverance- Appears as a pale, thin woman with a snake head and tail that wears dark robes. She is a bit cold towards Rowan, hardly speaking to him any more than to make a deal and hand him the item he wanted. Their contract gave Rowan a book that detailed the properties and uses for an immense amount of plants and other potential ingredients for making potions but he must never harm or eat a snake.

Personality:
Due to the betrayal and horror he experienced from his own family, Rowan has some issues trusting people, especially nobles. I mean, being used as a sacrifice for power and a sword stabbed through your stomach can do that to a person. He is visibly uncomfortable being in large crowds or coming into contact with people, as he will very noticeably flinch away if he isn't comfortable around the person. While he doesn't like large groups, he is uncomfortable being alone with someone as well unless he really knows the person and, even then, he still isn't completely comfortable. Deep down, he knows that the other person isn't going to try and stab him, but he can't help his mind from thinking about how he thought the same thing about his sister before she stabbed him. It isn't that he dislikes people or isn't friendly, honestly he is a very kind person and will do his best to help them. He usually fills a supportive role as a healer with his potions, or giving someone a potion that will boost strength, or something like that. So, that definitely isn't it, Rowan just holds people at a distance he deems safe. Don't think he isn't frustrated by his inability to get past his fear. It frustrates him immensely, but he hasn't been able to overcome it.

However, he has found solace in studying and potion making. Working in a library does have some key advantages. Near endless reading material being the chief among them. Rowan is incredibly passionate about reading as well as studying alchemy under his spirit and crafting potions. So, his time is well spent, in his opinion. If you wanted to talk with someone about all the implications of briar fruit seeds or the history of the kingdom, he's your guy.

Appearance:
As someone who is more dedicated to the making of potions and practicing alchemy, it isn't hard to believe that Rowan isn't very muscular. It's not that he isn't healthy, as he has a lean build, it's just that fighting is not his strong suit nor something he is particularly keen on learning. This also is the reason why he has very fair skin. Not quite pale, as he does tend to enjoy reading by a sunlit window, but you can definitely tell that he spends quite a bit of time inside. While most of his skin is free of scars, there is a thin scar about three inches long on his abdomen which he doesn't like to talk about for obvious reasons if you know his backstory. He is actually a little on the short side at 5'8". Due to the fact that he often deals with mixing various ingredients for potions that you really wouldn't want to get in your hair, he keeps his hair pretty short. On the topic of potions and hair, he does use a potion to leave his hair a stark white color which is more to help prevent him from being recognized than a personal choice. Although, you can see the dark brown roots of his hair that tell what his original hair color was. His eyes, however, remained the same. Mainly, because he couldn't find a potion that wouldn't hurt a lot when he did apply it to his eye that would change the color. Behind a thin pair of glasses hide his deep blue eyes, close to the shade of blue one would find just as the sun has almost set on the fringes of the oranges and yellows.

As for clothing, he will typically wear a simple tan tunic, dark colored trousers, and a pair of boots. When traveling, he will put on a brown cloak, a belt with specially made loops to hold any vials and bottles of potions he may be carrying, a large pack full of alchemy books, various bottles and jars of ingredients, tools that he may need for potion making, and his book from Perseverance.

Backstory:
Rowan was born as the eldest son of the noble Hearthfell family. One with a considerable amount of power and influence. Even with growing up with two other siblings, they were all pretty much pampered and never wanted for anything. It's sad for him to say but Rowan does have some pretty fond memories growing up with his brother Samuel, the youngest about two years younger than him, and sister Myria, the middle child and only about a year younger than him. That was until his seventeenth birthday where himself and his siblings were brought into the courtyard of the palace and the family's spirit was summoned before them. They thought that this was merely just the contract being made and, when they were given swords, that they would probably have to duel for the right. They were wrong. His father began to explain that only one would inherit the power of the spirit and that would be the one who killed the others, as per the contract of the spirit. Rowan tried to reason with his father but his pleas fell on deaf ears, as it could be assumed that his father had done the same to gain power. As he turned back towards his siblings to seek support, Rowan was met with a horrifying sight. Myria had stabbed Samuel right through the chest. Her attention turned to him as his brother's body crumpled to the ground.

Not knowing what else to do, Rowan dropped his sword and ran as fast as he could. His father called the guards to stop him. So, he had to dodge guards through the castle until he was cornered at one of the ramparts. But it was no guard that approached him, but Myria. As he began to try and reason with her, it seemed for a moment that it worked. She began to speak of how Samuel had attacked her first and of plans of how they could escape. Overjoyed, he was did not suspect a thing as she walked over to him. In the next moment, pain overtook any thoughts he had as a cry of pain escaped him when she stabbed a sword through his stomach. The sword removed with a flick of her arm, Rowan stumbled back and fell over the rampart of the castle and down into a river below.

It was only through sheer luck that he happened to be found on a riverbank by a passing hunter and the hunter's son who nursed him back to health. However, as soon as he was able to move on his own, Rowan fled as he did not want anyone to inform his family that he was there and cause harm to the kind people who had saved him. So from there he traveled for a long time until he was hopefully out of his family's sphere of influence. Eventually settling in to the capital city of another kingdom, hoping to hide his face among the many people. It wasn't long before his studious nature gained him a job at the royal library within the city, where he has been ever since. That is, until he was volunteered to go on an expedition to potentially save the world because of his knowledge of the text describing a way to save it.

Name: Sezia Turek
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Spirits:
1. Genesis:
Genesis is a spirit who is about six inches tall. she has a lithe, grassy green body with the face of a baby. Her arms are long and thin, extending into four-fingered webbed hands with similar appearance to frog hands. her lower half slowly tapirs off into a lithe, long bendy tail which curls up against her abdomen and chest. Her back is mounted with split, transparent, dragonfly-like wings, and her head is mounted in soft green tresses which cascade around her tiny round ears, as well as small antennae which curl and glow at the tips.

Genesis is a flighty, easily angered free spirit who doesn't really tend to like to stick around in one location for too long. She's extremely fickle, careless, and will often just go off on her own for no reason other than she's bored and doesn't feel like hanging around anymore.

Genesis's true abilities are animal control, however, she didn't really seem to gift these full powers to Sezia. Instead, all animals (excluding bugs) are attracted to her very presence. Guard dogs wag their tails, sharks nuzzle her affectionately, and she just can't seem to get rid of a raccoon she's nicknamed 'stalker.' Some animals, thanks to this ability, (usually animals with families, or animals who are already ones who are used to humans) may leap in to protect her if she's attacked. However, the animals still have a mind of their own, and cannot be ordered around by this ability. They must choose to follow her of their own volition. Not to mention, Sezia can still anger the animals she's managed to attact. They might just leave her a bit less mauled than a normal person. Eventually, Sezia will be able to issue small commands or requests to her animals.. and more simple animals or ones used to orders (ex dogs) will follow them without question. However, bigger animals or ones unused to following orders will ignore her or even turn against her.

For receiving this ability, the contract states that as a cost for the ability Sezia has gained.. Genesis comes and goes as she pleases. She stays fully outside of the spirit realm and just.. drifts around from place to place, only coming back when she feels like it. (as such, Sezia is left with very minor controls of her power, which can somtimes act as more of a burden than a boon)

2. Vasti: Vasti is a spirit about the size and shape of a softball. However, her body is covered in dark hairs which seem to hang down slightly from its lower half. Vasti has four eyes on the front of her face which appear as dark as charcoal. With a long wide mouth, and small flared nostrils marking her face, she can almost seem cute up close. Vasti gets around with eight very long, very thin legs, giving her the appearance of a massive daddy long legs.

Vasti is a gentle, sweet spirit who only wants to protect everyone around her. She has a soft, sweet voice, and mannerisms which seem similar to a doting grandmother. As such she tends to call everyone 'dear' or 'dearie' and often offers to help others out while she's around. She can be a bit stern as well, and will sometimes scold others or even go and lecture them about their choices.

Vasti gifts Sezia with the power to bring anything she knits to life, so long as she has the materials, it is only limited by her imagination and time. Vasti grants Sezia the power to create unlimited creatures (as long as she has the materials again). However, the yarn the creatures are made from is just yarn and can be destroyed with fire, slowed with water, and cut with a sword. When summoned, all Vasti requires from Sezia is genuine and pure affection, a kiss, an embrace, a little face nuzzle. If Vasti senses Sezia is not completely genuine.. she will return to the spirit world without helping her. Vasti only serves women.

Personality: Sezia commands attention when she walks into a room, its almost hard not to look or glance her way. She gives off an aura of a warrior, strong, powerful, and the type of person who should be feared. She is always standing tall and almost rigid at times, and can be rather stubborn and determined when she puts her heart into something. She also is something of an idealist, believing that one day she can hunt a creature large and impressive enough to gain other's approval.

Despite her outer strength, Sezia is actually quite awkward at times, not really sure how to handle herself as a woman, or as a hunter. As stated above, she craves the acceptance of others. She will lay down her life for anyone who treats her with respect.

Sezia is the type to fake it till she makes it. So she will often stand taller and stronger if she is feeling nervous or upset about something. She is strong, despite her misgivings about herself, and will often have a clever thought or word to add to a situation.

For those who treat Sezia poorly, she will return the favor. She is not the type for revenge, or going after someone. Instead she will treat that person with a cold, aloof coolness bordering on wicked hatred for the remainder of their life. And she is likely not to help them if she sees them in trouble or struggling with something down the line.

Appearance: Sezia is not what most would call attractive. She stands at an intimidating 6'3", and has a wide, flat chest, broad shoulders, and narrow hips. She has more masculine features, with a square jaw, long, flat nose which seems to have been broken several times, and a wide, expressive mouth with crooked teeth, and a faded scar diagonally across her lips. Her hair is cut short against her head, and a shade of mousy brown. Her only feminine feature are her eyes, which are large, and a beautifully alluring shade of steel grey. She can almost seem androgynous at times due to her stature and size.

Sezia dons simple leather armor which has been created for a man of her size, which covers almost her entire body. Sometimes she covers this armor with a cloak if its cold or she wants to look even more intimidating than she already is. She keeps a steel sword belted to her side, and occasionally carries a shield. She also has a small dagger at her hip and a wooden bow with a quiver at her back with white feathered arrows.

Backstory:
Sezia was brought up the last of her family, expected to extend the family line and further her family name. Her mother dying in childbirth, and her father dying not much later, she was sent to live with her grandmother. Sezia was supposed to be raised as a proper lady of the courts.. however, due to her non-traditional appearance she spent most of her time in the courts being mocked, scorned, rejected, or pitied.

Her only solace during this time was her grandmother, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Her grandmother would use her knitting spirit Vasti to knit a young Sezia little creatures who would dance and sing for her. Wanting to emulate her grandmother, Sezia attempted to take up knitting as well (though she was hopeless at it). Throughout all the ridicule and eyerolls, Sezia's grandmother taught her to stand strong and face adversity head on. So Sezia learned to project a confidence she didn't feel, and learned to stand tall and strong. Eventually, Sezia's grandmother passed away, though before she did, she transferred her ownership of Vasti's contract to her granddaughter.

Sezia was shoved off with her distant uncle (a hunter with both navigation and bartering spirits. Her distant uncle took one look at Sezia, and her odd appearance, and mistook her for a boy. So for the next few years of her life, her uncle raised her as such, teaching her to hunt and defend herself, as well as how to set traps for animals and how to barter and navigate. (though she's nowhere near his level with the last two considering her uncle is the one with the spirits.)

Before long, Sezia happened upon Genesis during one hunting mission. And Genesis decided to randomly sprinkle her with a power after seeing her hunt down a boar with help from her uncle. After giving her the power and with no explanation whatsoever, Genesis ran off to do her own thing, leaving Sezia to deal with the aftermath. Within the first few months of the ability, she ended up being hurt by a multitude of wild beasts, who all seemed drawn to her. Eventually Sezia discovered what her power was, and attempted to try and use it for her own gain, often luring animals into traps using her natural animal magnetism.

After this, Sezia's uncle caught on to the fact she is actually a woman due to her summoning Vasti, who was known in their family and recognized as something passed down to only females of their bloodline. However, seeing how useful her ability was to draw animals to her, her uncle kept on teaching her to hunt and using her for his own gains. Eventually Sezia went off on her own and started selling her own pelts, traveling the world as she saw fit. It was very hard for her to break off on her own considering in these times a woman hunting and traveling the world alone was very odd. But she stood strong and tall, stubborn enough to push her way through.

Recently, about a year ago, her power attracted a rather pesky raccoon she has not so affectionately named 'stalker' who follows her around and tends to mess with her by causing mischief for her.

Other: A raccoon is currently following her. so she named him 'stalker' He's going to be a bit of a companion and screwing with her along the way.
Sezia is excellent at hunting and fighting against animals of all kinds due to her ability.
Sezia is a decent swordfighter against humans. She can usually hold her own pretty well, and will throw in a few punches if things get really dicey.
Sezia uses her knitting as a sort of stress relief thing, but make fun of her for it, and you'll wake up the next day with a black eye.
Sezia just wants to be respected.

I really like your character :3 Just a couple small things to make sure her powers aren't OP. Maybe make sure the hypnotism like only lasts as long as she continues to play and that like maybe those with strong wills are able to resist it or like the more it is used on a person the more better they can resist it? And for the plant control ability make sure that she just can't grow plants from nothing, okay? Like there has to be seeds or something there for her to make grow just so she isn't making an oak tree grow in the desert or anything lol. Other than those, she sounds great :3
