One ancient Wildclaw who seemed to have ignored all the festivities was carefully making her way across the Ashfall Waste. She both avoided the open pits of lava and meticulously scanned the landscape, obviously searching for something. Suddenly, she seemed to find what she was looking for--a small dwelling under the shadow of a lava mound. Is anybody there?" she called out as she stood at the edge of the dwelling. It was a simple one consisting merely of a small nest for a bed, a table, and a couple of chairs. She heard a distant cough coming from somewhere to her right, and she turned her head to see the form of a Coatl flying toward her. "Hello, Lady Hyenn!" he called out with a slight wheeze. "What brings you here to my humble abode?" "Lagyrste," Hyenn inclined her head. "I am seeking a new weapon. Though the one you made me ages ago was of a fine quality, time wore it down until it eventually broke. I came to you today hoping that you could forge me a new one." He listened to her intently until she was finished talking but slowly shook his head when she was done. "I'm afraid I no longer make weapons, m'lady," he told her with a regretful sigh. "I'm no youngster anymore myself, and the smoke has been getting to my lungs." He paused for a moment and turned his head away, hacking up a large blob of grey. "I do know some folks who might be able to help you out, though. I can't guarantee how battle-worthy these weapons will be, but at the very least you should be able to get a nice-looking weapon at your site once more."

[center][size=5][b]The Old Dragon Collector's Association's Eighth Apparel Contest[/b][/size][/center] Hello, and welcome to the Old Dragon Collector Association's eighth apparel contest: The Scorching Edition! The contest is now open for entries and will close at the end of [u]Friday, September 4th[/u] (so at 23:59 FR time). The judges will take time to score each contestant, and then we will announce the winners sometime on [u]Monday the 7th[/u]. [color=#ee7600][b]Lagyrste is looking for blacksmiths to craft a weapon for Hyenn! You can chose up to one type of item from each of the hoard categories of food, materials, apparel, battle items, and other. For example, you could combine a Tarnished Chain, two Snapping Turtles, and a Flame Bolt to create a flaming meteor hammer! (Here Lagyrste would like to remark that he regrets some of his past weapon-making decisions.) Get creative with it! The more creative/useful/crazy the idea, the better! Drawings are awesome, but they aren’t necessary (as there are those of us who aren’t as artistically gifted). This is separate from the normal Character aspect. [*] [b]fit to theme[/b] – After all, this [i]is[/i] a fire-themed contest! [*] [b]outfit coordination[/b] – While fashion disasters are hilarious, they have their place (which isn’t here) [*] [b]originality/creativity[/b] – Creativity is important, and sometimes the seemingly unconventional approach is the once that wins people over [*] [b]apparel layering[/b] – We wanna see you masterfully layer that apparel and make your dragon look snazzy [*] [b]simple vs. overdone[/b] – That being said, things shouldn’t be [i]so[/i] over-the-top that they’re borderline ridiculous, ne? You can be as elaborate as you want, of course, but stay tasteful~ [/LIST] [size=4][b][u]IMPORTANT NOTES:[/u][/b][/size] [list] [*] Since this [i]is[/i] and ODCA event, there will be an age restriction for entries. Dragons entered into the contest must have been [b]born on September 6th of 2014 or earlier[/b] (in other words, [b]they should be at least one year old[/b]) [*] Accents are allowed, but [b]skins are a no-no[/b] for this contest! Skincents (accents that covered more than 30% and had to be created with a skin blueprint) are okay as long as they don't cover up the majority of the dragon (i.e. people should still roughly be able to see the dragon's colors just by looking at it). [*] Dragons can be any of element! The only thing that matters is age. [*] You are allowed to edit any posts you make up until the contest closes. [*] You may enter the same dragon into different/consecutive contests. [*] You may enter more than one dragon if you wish, but you can only win once per contest. This does not disqualify you from winning in subsequent contests--you just can't, say, win both 1st [i]and[/i] 2nd place in one particular contest. [*] This contest is NOT limited to only members of the ODCA--anyone who wishes may join in on the fun!
