All dragons in The Tangled Wood gather at the Forum where the weekly public hatching ceremony is held. Nervous smiles were painted on everyone's faces as they wait for the event to begin. "Welcome to the 36th Hatching Ceremony. As we all know th-..." One of the eggs began to hatch. "I see that this one couldn't wait" The little hatchling struggled as he (or she) pushed through the sticky cage that held him for days. Finally, a healthy, tiny Bogsneak hatchling groaned as it slipped out of its shell. A roar of applause came from the spectating dragons and reverberated throughout the Forum. A second egg began to hatch as tiny cracks travel its shell. A little head of a Skydancer pops out and rolls the egg on to the ground which set her free. Instead of applause, the crowd was silent, averting their eyes from the new hatchling. The hatchling was born with an undeveloped left wing, making it hard for the hatchling to balance himself. "As I was saying a while ago, we all know that the great Shadowbinder is blessed with the most followers in Sornieth. But we're in times of war and food is scarce. Those who can't fight for her won't be given the chance to live."
