I'm gonna go ahead and roll for a new one since I'm not feeling writing atm. ;o; The new task roll (1-5) is a 2 which means I can do an outfit design instead. ^-^ Much better, much more relaxing atm! I was pleased with Joseph's old outfit when I made it, but now I think it's just kinda blah and uninspired compared to... literally anyone else's, so I gave him another shot. Her heart fluttered in that way Guardians' hearts do when they're near their Charges. She figured it was also partly nervous energy, a childish and giddy feeling she never quite shook off since discovering what she -- and the rest of Gusting Eclipse, by extension -- was meant to do. And who she was meant to [i]be with[/i]. It was almost too much for her usually well-planned and sensible self. She felt herself sweating like a schooldragon admitting their crush. "How ridiculous," she murmured to herself as she worked up the courage to rap on the door. "Acting like a blushing hatchling that knows nothing of the world! Of all things!" Sunlit rolled her eyes at herself and counted her bags and belongings for what seemed like the tenth time since she'd made landfall. There weren't that many. It was a nervous tick of hers that, instead of soothing her as usual, served to make her more agitated and anxious. Sunlit held her breath and darted forward to knock on the door. She ripped her hand away immediately, forgetting to breathe as the wood was moved aside to reveal... Well quite frankly, Sunlit wasn't expecting Coppermoon to have grown so long! She very nearly failed to recognize him, and if it hadn't been for that delightful pull in her chest, she would have thought that this humble residence was the wrong place. Like a fool, Sunlit's practiced greeting evaporated in her mind. She was beat to the punch by Coppermoon who immediately lost all sense of "leaderly decorum" and launched himself at Sunlit with the veracity of a starving Mirror. His gangling body wormed around hers like a scarf, horns tickling at her shoulders and neck. "Sunlit!" he exclaimed before releasing her from his full-body hug. His eyes glittered as he appraised her, and Sunlit felt her normal resolve crumble as she wiped away a few tears that had dared fall against her better judgement. "Hello Coppermoon. I'm sorry that it's been so long, but... here I am," Sunlit presented herself with a flourish. Her few belongings jingled with her movements. "Ah!" said Coppermoon, almost as if he just realized that Sunlit was weighed down and probably exhausted from her travels. "Come inside, please, but we will have to keep it down; everyone else is asleep... finally." A sigh. "What brings you here? I am positive we can set aside space for you to stay for now, should you need it." Sunlit allowed herself to be ushered inside by the Spiral, already deciding how to tell him what she had learned from the Icewarden. Admittedly, she was a little annoyed with her godly father for not... informing her future clanmates of her arrival? [i]Deities[/i], honestly. "I will certainly need it. For, ah, forever, I suppose," she said with a barely suppressed smile. Coppermoon's pure look of awe and ecstatic surprise was enough to cause her to burst into muffled laughter. "Y-yes, you will definitely need to explain, please, Sunlit," Coppermoon said. "I am sure your story is similar to the others', if my hunch is indeed correct." Needless to say, that hunch [i]was[/i] indeed correct, and Coppermoon would have the joy of telling the clan that they, yet again, needed to expand the lair and build another room. I checked out the potential kids of whoever is able to breed and uhh, wasn't too impressed so I'm just gonna breed Coppermoon and Sunlit again. XD; They gave us 3 eggs! *thinking emoji* It's time to start taking bets on how many make it, y'all. Cast your votes! Gogogo~ Onto that Lore Day! [indent][font=candara]Despite Coppermoon's worries, it was easy to move Sunlit into the clan. At his excitement, everyone else hustled and bustled to make the new Guardian feel welcome and accepted. So much so that Sunlit was honestly a little embarrassed with her treatment. Though she did notice the pointed glances the other clanmembers cast between her and Coppermoon when they thought no one else was looking. They weren't nearly as sly as they thought they were. Especially JoJo, the obvious fool. Sunlit was quickly growing to like him due to his genuine personality and antics when he wanted to get a laugh or smile. After a relatively short expansion period, Sunlit found herself quickly integrated into the clan. She found herself chatting with Iari (or rather, Iari chatting at her and her nodding along politely unable to get in a word edgewise) and mothering the twins when they struggled with social situations. In fact, Sunlit found herself being a sister, a mother, a confidante to nearly all the dragons in Gusting Eclipse in between their battles and supply runs. She figured that because the deities were always scheming, much like the Shade that they had yet to encounter properly, that it was because of their intervention and fate-guiding. Maybe. In the meantime, however, she spent her days tending to the lair, the ever-growing work in progress it was, and helping out whenever she could. She was just about to start chopping firewood when Coppermoon called everyone to a meeting in the living room. It was definitely more of a multi-purpose room at that point, but the nomenclature had yet to change. "So, I know that we all have been anticipating the Shade to strike sometime soon," began Coppermoon. He looked around to everyone. "I have heard reports that others have seen Shade-monsters near the Steppes. We must investigate at once." At this, there was a clamor, a rise out of nearly everyone save for Kazas who just fixed Coppermoon with an unreadable look. Lotte stood with her hands on her hips, lips pursed and brows drawn. Iari and Joseph moved close to one another, each unsure how to flit worriedly about the other. "I know," Coppermoon began again, speaking loudly, "I know that we have not yet been able to train all together in our fighting, but I believe it would be best if all of us were to go, our new members included, should you want to." He looked over to the teens, eyes tired. Avaryu shrugged. "Yeah sure, I'll go. Dad didn't give me my magical destiny and all for nothing, eh?" He nudged Loris in her side, a lop-sided grin on his face. Loris looked hesitant, but finally nodded in agreement after a long moment. "I'll go, too. Alessia, Dace, how about you?" "Yes," the twins said simply, their tails linked to one another. All four teens were equal parts eager and scared, but their bravery was admirable. "Then it is decided. We head out tomorrow morning. Please rest well and prepare for what may lie ahead," finished Coppermoon. Sunlit felt worry take root in her stomach and bloom into a rafflesia. Ah. Here we go then. ;;-;; Hit with Death Chance: Lotte, Avaryu, and Alessia. Lotte: 15, survives and now has an immunity Avaryu: 7, at risk Alessia: 7, at risk Hoo boy okay. So Lotte is thankfully safe. However, two of the teens are officially at risk and [i]must[/i] land tails to survive. ... Neither survive their coin flip, both landing heads. ;-; Poor Dace... Poor Loris. They're going to be so heartbroken. [emoji=tundra sad size=1] And I can't imagine how Coppermoon will feel! Lore below for this upsetting turn of events [s]that I probably brought upon myself :c[/s] [emoji=Ping] [b]A warning for blood, violence, and death in this next section.[/b] [indent][font=candara]They played right into the Shade's nefarious hands. Coppermoon had watched it happen in slow motion. Too far to assist. Too far to protect. Too far to do anything but watch in abject horror. First to go down was Lotte. Kazas leapt at the Shade-possessed Raptoriks, using his baton to batter them away from her collapsed form. She fell out of her transformation immediately. Coppermoon couldn't tell if she was still breathing or not. Almost in the same moment, JoJo's unhealed wounds proved to be his bane, slowing him down enough to become overwhelmed by a swarm of ghouls who tore at his bandages and armor, trying to get at the sensitive flesh below. Luckily, he had his flail still in hand, so he winged it around with a grunt. Foes defeated, he let himself slump over, exhausted and bruised. His transformation flickered for a brief moment, but he managed to pull it together to make his way to Lotte and Kazas. Safety in numbers, he figured. Iari and Sunlit were back-to-back, barely holding off an onslaught of Raptoriks. Coppermoon took a quick glance at them to determine whether they could handle their predicament before realizing that no older clanmember was with any of the teens. His heart lurched into his throat as he scanned the battlefield where broken bodies of ghouls and possessed Raptoriks littered the ground like snow. Loris had managed to snake herself around Dace, and the two were using powerful Wind magic to blow enemies away from them. Alessia, much to Coppermoon's fear, had been knocked out of her transformation. She stood up with a pained shout, body broken in ways the leader couldn't possibly comprehend from far away. "Glimmer and gleam, my shining heart!" Alessia cried, raising a hand to the sky in an effort to transform back into her magical warrior form. Just as magic began to swirl around her, a Raptorik drove its spear straight through her chest, ceasing her transformation before it could even properly begin. Alessia glanced down at the spear and up at the Raptorik. Her eyes watered, and she sought out her brother with a grasping tail... Only to grasp at empty air. The Raptorik tore the spear out. Coppermoon watched as Alessia crumpled into a puddle of ichor and a final gust of wind magic spread from her body. She was gone in an instant. Coppermoon heard screaming, and realized that the sound was coming from Dace who, in the same moment his twin was pierced, had turned around to help only to witness her terrible demise. Avaryu, the stubborn boy he was, made a move to get to someone, anyone, who was close, only to be stopped by the same Raptorik that struck Alessia down with no hesitation. He had only a second before understanding why Alessia hadn't cried out when stabbed. Ryu couldn't find it in himself to cry out either, and instead, collapsed without a single sound. Coppermoon watched a final gust of wind magic leech from Avaryu's lifeless form, and felt himself wail. "Retreat! We need to retreat!" he called, voice breaking as he hurried to meet with Kazas who had made his way to the leader with Lotte's body slung over his back. "Go!" Joseph shouted, smashing his flail into an enemy. "Everyone get out of here!" Sunlit and Iari were surrounded, their situation grim. "We'll meet you back home," Sunlit said in a tone that doused argument before it began. "But what about you?" asked Loris, still clinging to Dace and having finally rendezvoused with Lotte and Kaz. She was sobbing whereas Dace was stone-faced and silent. His eyes were distant, unfocused. "Don't worry about it. We'll get home. Just [i]go[/i]," Iari commanded. The remaining teens rushed away. Joseph lingered for a moment, gaze hard on Iari, before dashing after them to meet up with the others. Coppermoon and the others finally regrouped after being separated almost as soon as they stepped foot onto that ill-fated portion of the Steppes. Dried tears clung to Coppermoon's face as he grabbed whoever was nearest to him -- JoJo -- and gave him a shove to start flying. "Go, now. Do not argue. We must fly," he said. Then, he whirled around to Sunlit and Iari. "You [i]will[/i] return home. And please, bring... bring Alessia and Ryu with you if you can." The plea ended with a dry sob. Sunlit caught Coppermoon's gaze. "It's a promise, my Charge." With that, Coppermoon lead half his clan back home in a shameful, regret-filled retreat, leaving two of his dear clanmembers behind. Leaving two [i]children[/i] dead on a field. They played right into the Shade's nefarious hands. Coppermoon had watched it happen in slow motion. Too far to assist. Too far to protect. hi friends! i did a major Dumb and hoard sold all the items in my hoard without noting down what i'd gotten from pink for the last few days :')

because of that, the next update (coming sometime today/tomorrow lol) will only have 1 pink item. however, i will do all my make-up RNG rolls. ahjksdfljasdhf sorry everyone awmg!
