[s]Endgame literally killed me for a few days, so I'm finally revived properly.[/s] Life got a lil wacky with my health. :P But we're back in action! To make up for lost time, I'll be combining most of my missed days into this post since I kept track of my loot from Pink. I'll do two days' worth tomorrow with Pink and the rolls, too, and then the missed days count should be caught up! Our combination yielded... a new clanmember, 45 coli matches, a lore day, and a dragon breeding. Rolling for a newbie, we got our first Guardian, so meet Sunlit! I'll be using the lore day here to catch up the story. :) As for the dragon breeding, Iari and Joseph are on a nest of 3 eggs. I'm not sure how I'll be incorporating the breeding into the lore, if at all, so stay tuned for that. (I have a strong feeling that breedings will be ignored for canon's sake since no one really has time for any of that right now. XD) Phew!
Time had slowed to a crawl for Coppermoon. He knew that he'd been taking care of Joseph for a while now, hoping in vain that his fever would break and the Wildclaw could finally get some peace, but it was impossible to remember how long Iari had been gone. He missed her almost to a painful extent, and found that in moments where he wasn't fussing over Joseph, he was worrying about the Bogsneak just as much. The gravity of the situation weighed on him like an anvil for the first time, and his heart dropped at the mere thought of losing both of his beloved friends so soon, so quickly. Coppermoon was claustrophobic in Joseph's room. The walls pressed inward, the air stagnated. He stood, suddenly panicky. He gave Joseph a long once-over before hurrying out and heading straight for the front door. He whipped it open, inhaling the cold night air deeply, and blinked tears away from his flushed face. "Okay, it'll be okay. Iari is on the way back. She'll be back. She's not hurt. She's coming back. Everything will be fine." The muttering sounded unfamiliar to his ears, but Coppermoon found it soothing nonetheless. He continued, peppering fervent prayers to the deities in between his affirmations. [emoji=left wing][emoji=eclipsed sun][emoji=right wing] Sunlit had been carefully packing up her meager belongings in a linen bag when a rush of powerful ice magic enveloped her. The chill was a welcome feeling. Her father's voice was a blizzard inside her head, loud and commanding, but almost unnaturally lacking in intonation. He spoke quickly, and then he and the magic were gone. It was a good thing the Guardian had already been keen on finding her old friend in his new home. She missed him terribly, and found that over the years, the pull in her heart hadn't faded like she hoped it would when their clans went separate ways so long ago. Indeed, that pull only magnified the further apart they became. She'd been on on her own for a while after leaving to find her Charge, that "Official Guardian Business" her Skydancer sister teased her about in gentle sibling jest. Her family's blessing and few belongings were her only mementos of home, and she was sure to carry everything with her wherever she went. Her new destination included. Finally, she had a lead into where her dear Charge had gone, and if what the Icewarden had told her was true, her destiny was much more than what she imagined for herself. And Coppermoon was in dire need of help. Bag tied shut, Sunlit did a final sweep to ensure she had everything ready to go from her small camp in the southeastern portions of the Starfall Isles. There wasn't much to check for, but she dutifully ran through her list of belongings anyway, tapping on the locket around her neck and murmuring her sister's name as she did. Her last task was to douse the campfire and head out, a task she did just as methodically as the others. Finally, she was off, flying as fast and as hard as her wings could carry her towards the Twisting Crescendo. Towards Coppermoon. [emoji=left wing][emoji=eclipsed sun][emoji=right wing] Iari led Kazas and Lotte back through the winding bamboo forest on the outskirts of town, making haste while avoiding dips in the ground or fallen shoots that would impede their progress. The goods she'd purchased swung at her sides, satchels fastened tightly and her large pack spanning the length of her back. They were getting a little heavy and cumbersome, but with Kaz's insisting promise to help, Iari couldn't find it within her to complain. The three managed to navigate back to the Gusting Eclipse lair in record time thanks to Iari's skillful movements in traversing the environment and Coppermoon's cartography expertise. She barely had to glance at the map on the way back. Her mind was swimming with too many thoughts and her memory of her near-frantic journey to the marketplace was still fresh. "We're just about there!" Iari yelled, her voice shaky and raspy from panting. She glanced back at the other two. Kazas was running along with no issues. Lotte opted to swap between gliding and sprinting every so often when she could, an easy task given her small stature and flying ability. The three of them hadn't spoken a word since departing. "Good. We'll get your friend patched up as soon as we arrive," Kaz said. "And then you can explain everything once he's settled," Lotte added, speaking both to Kaz and Iari. Iari nodded, letting out a hum as they rounded the last bend in the forest before a cliff side rose ahead of them. She saw Coppermoon standing outside the doorway, looking lost and exhausted. "Coppermoon? Coppermoon!" she called. "I'm back. I brought help!" Not waiting for a response, she dashed inside and went straight for Joseph's room, already knowing that she'd be followed not only by Kaz and Lotte, but by the clan leader himself. "Here, he's here," Iari told Kaz. "He got hit by some sort of janustrap attack. We couldn't tell, but he's septic, I think." Her face paled as she remembered the sickening sound of Joseph's body tearing open. Coppermoon barely withheld a whimper. "His fever... it won't go away. I'm afraid that he's-" "None of that. Enough," Kazas said, firmly cutting the worrying Spiral off. "Lotte, get my stuff set up. We can put it out on the dresser there." His voice was assertive, but hushed in Joseph's presence. "He's out, but once we start, he won't be." At this, he turned to Iari and Coppermoon. "I'm gonna be honest, he won't like how this feels. But it's either pain now, then healing, or he just dies. You'll need to leave the room while we work so we can have some space. You can peek in if you need to. Just stay out of the way." Lotte raised a brow at him, setting out the herbs that Iari had purchased alongside ones that Kaz and her had already owned. "That's a little too harsh there, Kazas." A shrug. "Doesn't matter. It's the truth. I don't lie. I don't mess around with stuff like this," he said. Iari paled further. Coppermoon looked ready to lose what little food he'd eaten that day. Both managed to stay firm, however, and stepped aside to let the two newcomers tend to Joseph. Iari bent to press a kiss to Joseph's temple. She murmured a Fire blessing into his ear and smoothed his head frills for a moment before following Coppermoon to the hallway. [emoji=left wing][emoji=eclipsed sun][emoji=right wing] True to his word, Kaz set to work utilizing herbs and his and Lotte's combined healing magic to get Joseph stable and purge the infection from his bloodstream. Iari and Coppermoon could only listen to Joseph's pained shouts for a minute before they both went to sit outside in the cold, shivering underneath the one unused blanket and huddled close to one another. It took hours, and by then, the sun had risen, brightening the sky in a magnificent swirl of morning colors and soft cloud cover. Lotte was the one to bring the two back inside, arms crossed and eyes drooping from overexerting herself. Kaz looked none the worse for wear, though he did let out a long yawn once everyone crammed next to Joseph's bedside. "It's done. He'll be fine now," Kazas said. Both Iari and Coppermoon felt tears brim in their eyes, but only Coppermoon let them fall. "Why isn't he awake now?" Iari asked. Lotte answered her inquiry as she adjusted the blankets draped over Joseph. "He won't be up until around evening. If he's up sooner, well, that's both impressive and-" "Stupid. He needs to recuperate after what his body was put through," finished Kazas. Lotte rolled her eyes. "Yeah, that too, I guess. If you want to be an arse about it," she muttered under her breath. "I think I can handle waiting. What about you Coppermoon?" Iari turned to her leader, offering him a gentle pat on the shoulder. He nodded, futilely wiping tears away only to have more fall despite his best efforts. "Come, let's head back to the common room. You can tell me about yourselves there so that Joseph can rest. You have a lot to explain, Iari." Iari agreed immediately, feeling a bit like a child caught stealing sweets, and escorted the group to a comfortable array of pillows and cushions in the common room. It was there that she told Coppermoon why she'd been so quick to trust Kazas and Lotte. The latter explained what they'd been told from their respective godly parent. Coppermoon relented, stowing his speech about stranger danger for later, and ended the conversation by discussing both clan Breezeborne and Gusting Eclipse as well as much information about the Shining Heart Soul Warriors he could remember in his tired haze. "So, I guess you're one of us now," Coppermoon said after a lengthy amount of exposition. "I officially welcome you to our home, though we'll certainly have to expand more so that you may both have a room." Lotte responded first. "Well, I guess it's better than what we were doing before, eh, Kaz?" She jostled his side with her elbow. The Wildclaw huffed, and after a minute, answered, "I suppose we are." He ignored Lotte with practiced ease. Coppermoon allowed himself to smile as Lotte turned to Kazas and jabbed her elbow into his side again, causing him to grumble his displeasure at the Skydancer. He caught Iari's gaze, and the two shared the same thought before fully relaxing into the cushions. Everything is going to be okay.
[emoji=coliseum team] Notable Loot Earned: [emoji=coliseum team] None :C ----------------- [emoji=d20] 49 - Death Chance: [emoji=d20] I'll also be doing three other rolls on top of that unfortunate death chance. Out of curiosity, I rolled to see if she'd have survived, and the answer was a pretty solid yes, avoiding the death number by 16. My free day will be working with Sunlit, probably doing bits of her bio. I also went ahead and used this second breeding chance for Coppermoon and Sunlit. They make some nice combinations~ ^^ And last, the death chance roll falls on Iari, but she's immune because of her previous death chance. :') *dabs* (Her deity blessing is now used up, though should she encounter another death roll soon, she'll be immune as she's nesting.) No spare lore for this part of the post since I crammed everything up top and it doesn't make sense given my rolls here... ^^;

The simple curtains had been pulled apart and on the sill sat a bundle of bamboo, placed in hand-painted flower pots. A silence blanketed the room like the sleep that had swept Joseph under its wing. For the first time in days, he could breathe deeply without an immediate rush of agony. He savored the feeling. After a failed attempt at swallowing, Joseph swung his forever legs out of bed, shuddering at the temperature difference, and made his way to the door. He was mindful to walk with great care for his legs and underbelly, knowing that they had taken the most damage during the battle... How many days had gone by exactly? Tiredly, Joseph tried to add the numbers, but gave up after he found he wasn't able to remember anything useful. Shaking his head in an effort to rid himself of worry, he popped into the hallway, peeking to see if anyone else was up. It wasn't that he didn't want to see anyone that day, but at that precise moment, Joseph really just wanted some time to process the last... whatever as Arcanist knows how long he'd truly been out. And his voice was most likely useless anyway. After a moment, he figured that everyone was probably in the common room or at least out of the vicinity, so Joseph padded to the bathroom to scrub his teeth clean, relieve himself, and grab some water all in one, solitary trip. While he was at it, he splashed a bit of sink water on his face, and then took a solid fifteen minutes to linger on some niggling thoughts before sweeping them under the rug and refusing to think about mortality any longer than he already had. It wasn't every day he was knocked out of his transformation. Hopefully. Finally refreshed and nihilistic thoughts safely crammed away, Joseph steeled himself to poke his head into the common room and alert everyone that he was, in fact, awake and alive. He felt a little twinge in his side, but elected to ignore it. Gauze still wound its way around his torso and legs, and he realized while in the bathroom that there were bandages and gauze on his neck as well. It itched. Joseph was fully aware that Coppermoon would be livid if he peeled anything off, so he opted for shifting uncomfortably against the dressings and heading to the common room. "Uh, hey... everyone," Joseph said, his voice sounding just as terrible as he anticipated and trailing as he looked at two unfamiliar faces. "I'm up," he finished weakly. Iari was on her feet at once, though she seemed to flounder and flail. Joseph gave her a look, a puzzled expression, and she flushed. "I'm so glad you're okay," she said. "Yeah, likewise. The alternative was pretty crappy, y'know?" His chuckle sounded fake even to his own ears, but blissfully, no one made mention of it. "Let me get you some tea. I'm sure you're in need of something warm. And some food," Iari said, more to herself than anyone else. She hurried to the kitchen, frills twitching and face still red. Joseph watched her leave then turned to take her spot on in the midst of soft cushions. He shivered. "Should have taken a few blankets, haha," he said after clearing his throat. An awkward pause as Coppermoon sat bowl-eyed looking at him. Joseph shifted, his dressings itching him and making him feel warm. "Anyway, uh, who're you two?" He redirected the attention to Kazas and Lotte. "I'll explain, Kaz, don't get your feathers in a bunch," Lotte said just as Kazas opened his mouth to make a smart comment. She rolled her eyes at him, the whisper of an affectionate smile on her lips. Heyy we have an outfit design day and a death chance! HhhHHHH. Well, let's get the death chance out of the way first... Here we GO.

The dragon in danger according to our roll of fate is... Joseph! Except he's got that sweet nesting immunity so TAKE THAT, FATE. also pls leave him alone oh my god???

tumblr_inline_p8jnmdoJae1so0coz_75sq.gif Aaaaaanyway, I have made a lovely look for Sunlit! Mmm, imagine having all that dragon cash to make her look this good. =3=;;

dragon?did=12389343&skin=0&apparel=29246,15716,15721,26281,10752,5163,10877,23128,25863,547,9813,8594,9215&xt=dressing.png
Sunlit's Strategy

Joseph opened his eyes, squinting against the sun pouring through his window.

It itched. (ofc I only got one measly leafy pack -- RIP)
It had taken hardly any time to get Kaz and Lotte caught up on all the secrets that Clan Breezeborne, and by extension, Gusting Eclipse, had. The two sat quietly after introducing themselves -- or rather, after Lotte introduced herself and Kazas to everyone else -- and allowed whatever missing pieces of the puzzle that their deity parents hadn't provided them fall into place. It had taken a full week or so before they were comfortable with their newfound knowledge. Kazas had retreated into himself to reflect. Lotte had busied herself with helping Coppermoon and the others whenever she could. Most of her tasks had been helping to expand the lair and constructing new furniture to accommodate the slow-growing clan. She wasn't particularly bulky, so she had trouble doing heavy-lifting, but her deft fingers and skill at maneuvering the tiny bits and bobbles made her help irreplaceable to Joseph and Iari, especially since the two had taken up the mantle of "official construction workers." (Joseph wasn't terribly pleased with this development given his recent condition, but after having been out of commission for so long, didn't have it in his heart to complain. Coppermoon wasn't pleased about the manual labor himself, but kept his complaints to himself to appear as an exemplary leader. Iari, on the other hand, relished in her work much to everyone's chagrin.) Just as the group had finally patched together a bigger lair, complete with meager cloth furnishings and blankets that Kaz had sewn at Lotte's request (he found it particularly difficult to tell the girl no, after all), Coppermoon came back from a supply run with a few... surprises in tow. Kaz, Lotte, Joseph, and Iari had been resting in the living room, drinking tea and having a light lunch when the Spiral shuffled in, an unreadable look on his face. The first to notice the newcomers was Joseph. "Uh, hey, Coppermoon?" he said after taking a long sip of tea. Coppermoon shifted under his gaze. "Yes, Joseph?" "Who're they? No offense." "They" ended up being not one, not two, but four teenage dragons huddled together behind Coppermoon. They appeared skittish and unsure, sticking to one another like a lifeline. "Well, I sort of found them on the supply run?" Coppermoon answered. His voice cracked a bit as he shrugged. "They are not supplies, clearly, but we always need more help for our cause, am I correct?" Kazas raised a brow. "We just finished expanding for Lotte and I. Where are we gonna put them?" At this, Coppermoon flinched as one of the teens tried to excuse herself to leave. Lotte cuffed Kaz gently on the side of the head. "Don't be rude." Kaz shot her a look. "How about this: we can just do a little more work to get these kids some space. They could also room together if need be?" Lotte said, looking towards the older Gusting Eclipse dragons for affirmation. She didn't want to be the one to command everyone, but figured since everyone else had sat there gaping like a bunch of confused guppies, she might as well suggest some sort of plan. Iari spoke up at the suggestion. "I wouldn't mind if they could help?" Joseph shrugged. "Sure, why not? But, hey, you wanna explain how you found them, Cop?" At this, one of the teenagers, the Bogsneak, spoke up. "The Windsinger. He guided us to Mr. Coppermoon. I found Loris and her siblings on the way, and she said they were told the same thing." Loris, the Spiral stepped forward after taking a long moment to disentangle herself from the two Guardians. "Hi, I'm Loris," she said with an awkward wave. "We were born pretty close to here, actually, but we lost one of my sisters on the way." At this, she scrubbed at her eyes. "The four of us... weren't really bonded to our birthclan, so we set out to make our own home. It wasn't too long before the Windsinger made contact with us after losing Yetti, I don't think?" The Bogsneak nodded along to Loris's story, and at her inquiry, added, "We ran into each other about a month or so ago? Took us about two days to get here. But we don't understand exactly what we're here for." He rolled his eyes. "Dad didn't exactly make himself clear." Loris and her Guardian siblings smirked as one. Having been quite inexperienced with the breezy deity other than a few vague conversations and the rare touching-base, the rest of Gusting Eclipse didn't know precisely how to digest that bit of information. It'd be one thing if the newcomers had the same godly parent as any of the other dragons crammed into the living room, but of course, the deities couldn't make things simple and easy with familiarity, could they? "So, what do you know?" Kaz asked, finally breaking the silence. The Bogsneak shrugged. "I know these three. And I know that we're some sort of like, magical thing?" "Warriors," Coppermoon cut in. "Magical warriors destined to protect all of Sornieth, uphold the deities' honor, and defeat the Shade." A beat. "Well, it beats running around the Crescendo," hummed the Bogsneak. "I'm Avaryu, by the way. Call me Ryu." "I'm Loris!" Loris chirped before flushing and realizing that she'd already introduced herself. "Um..." Finally, the Guardians spoke up together. Literally. "We're Alessia and Dace," they said in unison. Neither had moved from each other the entire conversation, and they still hovered behind Loris with tapping tails and claws. "They don't really talk too much, and when they do, it's together. It's a nervous thing," Loris explained with a hand wave at Kaz's intrigued expression and Iari's semi-surprised gasp. Her cheeks were still pinked from her previous conversational blunder. "Well, we welcome the four of you to our -- your -- home. I apologize, but everything is a work in progress. If you do not mind, you will have to help build the place up," Coppermoon said, a diplomatic smiled on his face. The Guardians nodded as Loris gave a thumbs up, a smile pulling at her lips. Ryu huffed a laugh. "Like I said, it beats running around the Crescendo."
------------ [emoji=eclipsed sun] Pinglist: @softbun, @Possums, @loser ------------
