Home is behind, the world ahead,
and there are many paths to tread
through shadows to the edge of night,
until the stars are all alight

I don't know if anyone's done this already, but I decided to do a Kappa:

I did a siren! They're variably represented as bird-ladies and fish-ladies, so tried to incorporate both (feathers for the bird, shiny blue body for the fish). I also like how pearlcatchers have "hair" (well, a mane, but whatever).

A majestic lake serpent!

So there was this odd sound picked up on NOAA's hydrophones in 1997. It became known as The Bloop, and cosmic horror fans were delighted to know it was very close to the proported location of R'yleh where it is said Cthulu sleeps.
As it turns out, it was probably just ice cracking, but wow, people ran with it for a while as a possibly organic sound. Here's a dragon who represents The Bloop.

Here's the Mishipeshu, the Water Panther. The Mishipeshu is native to the Great Lakes region. He looks like a giant, scaly cougar with stag horns and a very long tail; sometimes he has serpentine qualities. Mishipeshu is know for a lot of cool things, but my favorite is that Mishipeshu considers all copper in the Great Lakes region to be his. And if you try to 'steal' his copper, he won't take kindly to it.
I love aquatic cryptids. I was really torn on who to scry, but Mishipeshu is my favorite, followed closely by the kelpie. But Mishipeshu is so boss. I'd write more about him but I'm tired. But seriously. Really cool cryptid.
