A trio of rather pretty brothers was born to my last heir, and I'm feeling more positive than usual, despite the lack of primary and tertiary genes.
Crusade, the eldest, has my least favourite primary (splash), but it looks quite nice with the flaxen wings, and he has an upgrade to Spiral. His secondary is my favourite from the trio.

Paul has a gorgeous steel tertiary and I like that, together with his swamp wings, he looks a bit gloomy. So although he has no upgrades to speak of, I'd not mind him becoming my heir.

Curiosity showed his promise early - despite occupying the middle slot, he often moved first. Pioneer went down, thus ending the pattern of male Mirrors with Blackberry primaries. Alas. Then Glast and Stereo fought with Pallas' younger brother, [url=https://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=36888465]Aegis[/url], against a series of single Beastclan opponents. Stereo landed a number of crits. Two Frosted Pocketmouse appeared, and one got Glast. The last battle saw a clear improvement in the opponents' cunning, for they kept dodging! But Curiosity's speed and physical attacks won out against Stereo's powerful Contuse blasts. I present to you the distinctly non-purple, double-upgraded third generation heir! See how well he carries his father's [s]curse[/s] blade:

Hex is beautiful, Tiger good. Crackle only works under very specific situations. I'm hoping their color range makes it not clash, at the very least. If it does turn out blegh, at least it may make interesting lore!
I've been doing this for the previous generations, too, but I think I will stick to a 10 kt limit throughout. Seems to be totally doable, since plentiful dragons are cheap. Also allows me to continue running a profit, even in the later generations.
