However, I found Gummy rather charming too, in his own silly Snapper way. (Sorry, Galeus.) After floundering for a while between picking one of those two, I decided that--since Garnet was female and Gummy was male--I'd simply pick the first G-named dragon on the Auction House and pair it with whichever of these dragons was the most fitting. I was going to be slightly disappointed regardless of what happened as I was either going to lose a looker or be stuck with a female Snapper heir for the third generation in a row. The latter ended up happening, as the first G-named dragon I found was a male. However... disappointment was more crushing than I imagined. Behold! He's got great genes and colors and is complete with matching eyes--plus a decent chance to pass on Cherub, which is one of my favorite genes. However, for three reasons, I still can't help feeling let down. First of all, he's a Nocturne. They're are among my least favorite of the Flight Rising breeds--not because I hate them, but because they've just never appealed to me the way many of the others do. Second of all, because he's a hatchling, he's going to have that agitating 30-day cooldown to sit through. Lastly, even if I end up breeding a Nocturne out of this pair, I really doubt I would want to select that hatchling as my heir over, say, yet another Snapper. Oh, well... here's to seeing you guys in early April or so. Hopefully my heir will at least have Cherub and/or be male this time for a little variety!

Confession: I...actually kinda like Lodel, in an ironic way. She's the kind of ugly that makes me smile. I would have used her as my heir, in fact, for the fun of it, but the mate I found on the AH for her was a boring monotone Tiger/Stripes/Smoke, and I couldn't have that. So I defaulted to my second choice, Luxury, and found him a mate instead. Unfortunately... On the plus side, Liana here was on the very first page of the AH, and comes bearing two of my fave genes, though Giraffe and Peregrine will overpower them, likely. She also comes with a chance to get away from Underbelly, which has been here since my founders. I don't like Thylacine much, with the exception, luckily, of Spirals, and wouldn't you have it?
