You have to have a direct link to the image/gif, which is a fancy way of saying that it must end in a .jpg, .png, .gif, and so on. You have to make sure you give it the address for the picture itself (not the page you are viewing it on) which you can find by using right click or equivalent and use "copy link address", "copy image address", or "copy image URL", etc. So for example, we have this gif: http://i.imgur.com/F4o2J5e.gif
You could insert the gif manually by using the image tags.
[code]
[img](picture link here)[/img]
[img]http://i.imgur.com/F4o2J5e.gif[/img]
[/code]
Or you can just click the little icon with the picture of a tree. When you click it, there will be a pop-up box to put a URL. You just paste the link there and in return, you get your image:
[img]http://i.imgur.com/F4o2J5e.gif[/img]
I hope I explained it well ^^;

It need .jpg or .gif to end. Otherwise it won't show up. I'm not good with these kind stuff, but being years as a admin in one comic forum did teach a lot ^^'

"Who? Me?"
I don't know if it will help(I'm on a Mac laptop), but what I usually do if I have issues finding image urls is I drag the image up to the tab bar. Then, it will replace a tab and you're able to get its url. :)
@1razorstar For images with such weird urls, it may be the easiest to save that image to your pc and reupload it to imgur.com for example. Then you can post it on FR with the imgur url.
